When a compressed image is detected, a warning is generated to request selection of the next process. The use of a warning color or application of an outline may be designated, and a drawing setting may also be performed according to the designation. The present invention provides an image processing device which aims for appropriate settings and simplification of printing functions. In a print server, when a print job is received, an application name used in a client terminal is specified from a drawing command of the print job, and standard settings of printing functions provided for each application are read from database files. When the settings are different, after carrying out a warning processing, setting of printing functions based on the standard settings is carried out, and image processing and printing processing based on the set printing functions are executed. An image processing device is structured such that an appropriate judgement of an image, at which blurring or disappearance or the like will occur, is possible. When pixels, which form a line image at which there is the possibility that blurring or disappearance will occur at the time of printing by using a printing plate, are extracted, a line image warning function gives notice by displaying a warning message on a monitor of a client terminal. Thereafter, image converting and print setting are carried out such that an extracted line image is clarified. In a print server, when page setting is made, a spot color name is extracted from a comment in an image drawing command and image data or a code of a job on a page (page layout) unit basis and a list for a spot color name of each page is generated. After that, a color separating process and an RIP are performed on the page unit basis, raster data of each of colors C, M, Y, and K and corresponding raster data of a spot color name is generated, after that, on the basis of CMYK values designated by the spot color name, the raster data of the spot color is composed with the raster data of each of the colors C, M, Y, and K, and the resultant is output. There is provided an image processing device carrying out image processing on one of image data and an image-drawing command inputted from an image processing terminal. When there is an object of a color plate which is different than a process color, it is confirmed whether or not Color (n), which corresponds to that color name Spot (n), is a spot color. If Color (n) is a spot color, CMYK value conversion is carried out from a LUT of that spot color, and CMYK values are composed in a region for output. If Color (n) is a process color, CMYK values thereof are stored in a region for CMYK color correction. After color correction is carried out on the CMYK values of the region for CMYK color correction, they are composed with CMYK values of the region for CMYK output. Color information when a color plate different than a process color is included, is generated.

An image generating apparatus includes a color correcting unit, a setting unit and an image generating unit. The color correcting unit corrects a drawing color of each image element. When at least one of color components of the corrected drawing color of each image element meets a predetermined condition, the setting unit sets the at least one of the color components to a predetermined value. The image generating unit draws each image element with the drawing color subjected to the correcting and the setting, to generate an image. When the image element, which is to be drawn with the drawing color including the at least one of the color components, is drawn to overlap another image element, the image generating unit draws a color component, which is same as the at least one of the color components, of a drawing color of the other image element without overwriting.
