A manifold system for an internal combustion engine, having a housing, which is designed as a collecting manifold and which has two inlet openings and an outlet opening for the flow connection of two outlets of an internal combustion engine to an exhaust system and at most two connection openings provided on the housing for connecting a double-shell inner air-gap-insulated manifold. An exhaust system is developed in such a way that, at the same time, the tone of the exhaust gas noise and thus of the exhaust system is optimized over a plurality of important rotational speed ranges of the internal combustion engine by a modular assembly. For this purpose, at least one separate inner air-gap-insulated manifold having a connection opening, an inlet opening, and an outlet opening is provided, which is connected to the housing by the outlet opening, and at least one separate outer air-gap-insulated manifold having an inlet opening and an outlet opening is connected to the connection opening of the inner air-gap-insulated manifold. All air-gap-insulated manifolds are completely formed of sheet metal, and each air-gap-insulated manifold has a separate one- or multi-part inner shell and a one- or multi-part separate outer shell. All inner air-gap-insulated manifolds are structurally or geometrically identical and all outer air-gap-insulated manifolds are structurally or geometrically identical, wherein the inner air-gap-insulated manifolds are not structurally identical and not geometrically identical to the outer air-gap-insulated manifolds.

Manifold

A modular exhaust manifoldfor a motor vehicle, with multiple adjoining manifold pipe modules, having: at least one engine flange, via which an inlet connection pipe of the manifold pipe modules can be connected to a cylinder head of the motor vehicle; at least one manifold pipe module, configured as a collector pipe module and having a contact flange, via which the exhaust manifold can be connected to an exhaust system of the motor vehicle, the respective manifold pipe modules having an overlap contour of a length a that permits the telescoping of two manifold pipe modules to an insertion depth t for coupling purposes, at least two manifold pipe modules being identical in shape, and a variation of the insertion depth t of at least 5 mm to 30 mm or 10 mm or 15 mm or 20 mm or 25 mm being obtained by the formation of length a of the overlap contour. Modular manifold for motor vehicles

An exhaust-gas heat exchanger for an exhaust system for cooling an exhaust-gas flow, having an inner pipe and an outer pipe, wherein the two pipes are indirectly or directly welded to one another in sealing fashion at the inlet side, a jacket pipe is arranged around the outside of the outer pipe and an annular gap for coolant is arranged between the outer pipe and the jacket pipe, and the inner pipe has an axial flow cross section (A) at the end as viewed in the flow direction (S) and has a perforation (P), which forms a radial flow cross section, in a direction at right angles to a flow direction (S). Between the inner pipe and the outer pipe there is formed an exhaust-gas duct for the exhaust-gas flow, wherein an intermediate pipe which is mounted in displaceable and/or rotatable fashion on the inner pipe is provided with a perforation (P) by which the axial flow cross section (A) of the inner pipe can be at least partially closed off.

Exhaust-gas heat exchanger

An air gap-insulated exhaust manifold for internal combustion engines. The manifold includes a flange with openings for fastening elements and further openings, which align with the cylinder exhaust ports of the internal combustion engine. A gas-tight outer shell is connected to the flange. An inner shell is provided with openings, which align with the cylinder exhaust ports of the internal combustion engine. The outer shell has a trough-shaped lower part and a hood-shaped upper part, which is welded gas-tight to the lower part. The inner shell has a trough-shaped lower part and a hood-shaped upper part. The outer shell is connected to the flange in a gas-tight manner. The inner shell is firmly attached to the outer shell at only one place.
