A suture anchor and inserter arrangement, including a suture anchor for implanting in hard tissue, such as bone, and an inserter device for installing the suture anchor in hard tissue. The suture anchor carries thereon a suture-engaging structure formed from suture, which structure cooperates with working suture associated with the inserter device so as to attach the working suture to the suture anchor.

A system for implanting an anchor into bone, the system comprising a curved cannulated guide for percautaneous insertion, having a proximal end and a distal end; a flexible drill insertable through the curved guide from the proximal end to the distal end, the flexible drill having a shaft having a flexible portion; and a flexible inserter for inserting a suture anchor into a bore at the anatomical site formed by the flexible drill, the flexible inserter having a shaft having a flexible portion, wherein the flexible portions of both the flexible drill and flexible inserter include a series of discrete, interlocking segments.

Suture anchor implantation instrumentation system

A line lock includes a body at least partially bounding a primary passageway, a secondary passageway, and a working passageway. In one embodiment at least a portion of the working passageway is disposed between the primary passageway and the secondary passageway such that a geometric line segment extending between the primary passageway and the secondary passageway intersects with working passageway. A line extends through the primary passageway, the secondary passageway and then through the working passageway such that a relative compression section of the line is formed between the primary passageway and the secondary passageway. The compression section of the line selectively biases against a portion of the line extending out of the working passageway so as to selectively lock the line to the body when the line is tensioned against the body.

Adjustable line locks and methods

Systems and methods for coupling a catheter, such as a drainage catheter, to a patient's body and decoupling the catheter from the body are disclosed. Embodiments of the present invention take advantage of the flexibility of a catheter cannula and allow for a self-contained system that secures the catheter cannula within the body while bodily fluid is draining. In one embodiment, the catheter is coupled to the body by compressing a proximal hub member to a distal hub member, causing the cannula to curl and form an anchoring configuration (i.e. a loop, pigtail, j-curve, malecot, etc.). In compressing the portions, one or more fingers within the proximal hub member force a cord into one or more corresponding channels within the distal hub member, thereby shortening the amount of cord in the cannula. The proximal and distal hub members can be locked together in the compressed position for as long as the catheter is to be coupled to the body. The catheter can be decoupled from the patient's body by returning the hub to an extended position, pulling on the cord, or removing a wire to release the cord and allow for removal of the catheter cannula from the body.
