A liquid detergent composition may have a continuous liquid phase and solid particles dispersed in the continuous phase. The continuous phase may be transparent or translucent. The solid particles may be made of a polymeric matrix material, have a diameter ranging from about 0.8 to about 8 mm, and may include a plurality of microcapsules. The plurality of microcapsules may be dispersed in the polymeric matrix material. The microcapsules may have a diameter ranging from about 4 to about 70 70 &#x3bc;m. Use of and methods of use of such a liquid composition are also described.
