Imaging apparatuses and enclosures configured for deployment in connection with ceilings and downlight cavities are disclosed. Certain exemplary aspects relate to imaging apparatuses for monitoring, recording or imaging a space such as a room having overhead lighting provided via ceiling structures that may include enclosures and/or downlight fixtures within ceiling cavities, and various imaging apparatuses herein may include an infrared or thermal camera, for example, for imaging within such spaces.

Imaging apparatuses and enclosures configured for deployment in connection with ceilings and downlight cavities

An enclosure having: a base face that is opaque or translucent to human eyes viewing from outside of the enclosure and transparent to infrared radiation; and at least two flat, orthogonal mounting faces configured to be overlaid respectively on at least two surfaces of walls and ceiling of a room. A thermal imaging apparatus configured to image based on infrared radiation and mounted within the enclosure with a predetermined orientation relative to the base face to have a designed imaging direction with respect to the room when the enclosure is mounted in the room to have the at least two orthogonal mounting faces overlaid respectively on the at least two surfaces.

Imaging apparatuses and enclosures

The disclosed techniques include systems and methods for implementing security cameras with thermal imaging sensors. The disclosed techniques can utilize a thermal imaging sensor (TIS) and a less robust passive infrared (PIR) sensor of a security camera system to monitor a field of view.

Security cameras with thermal imaging sensors

A thermal imaging system including at least one thermal imaging device, a server, and at least one mobile device. The thermal imaging device captures thermal images of an environment. The server applies computer vision techniques to the thermal images, detects events of a predetermined type, and generates notifications of the events of predetermined types detected from the thermal images. The mobile device runs a mobile application that is configured to receive the notifications, present user interfaces, receive user annotations of the notifications in the user interfaces, and transmit the annotations to the server. According to the annotations, the server adjusts parameters used in the application of the computer vision techniques and in the generation of the notifications.

User interfaces to configure a thermal imaging system

A camera assembly, including: an enclosure having mounting surfaces for alignment with surfaces against which the camera assembly is to be mounted; at least one imaging apparatus disposed within the enclosure and having a predetermined orientation with respect to the enclosure; and a communication device disposed within the enclosure; and a server disposed at a location remote from where the camera is mounted. The camera assembly and the server communicate over a computer communication network to identify at least one mounting measurement of the camera assembly to establish a mapping from an image coordinate system for images generated by the imaging apparatus and a real world coordinate system aligned with an orientation defined by the at least two orthogonal surfaces.

Apparatus and method of location determination in a thermal imaging system

Systems, methods, and apparatuses for providing electromagnetic radiation sensing using sequential beam splitting. The apparatuses can include a micro-mirror chip having a plurality of light reflecting surfaces, an image sensor having an imaging surface, and a beamsplitter unit located between the micro-mirror chip and the image sensor. The beamsplitter unit includes a plurality of beamsplitters aligned along a horizontal axis that is parallel to the micro-mirror chip and the imaging surface. The beamsplitters implement the sequential beam splitting. Because of the structure of the beamsplitter unit, the height of the arrangement of the micro-mirror chip, the beamsplitter unit, and the image sensor is reduced such that the arrangement can fit within a mobile device. Within a mobile device, the apparatuses can be utilized for human detection, fire detection, gas detection, temperature measurements, environmental monitoring, energy saving, behavior analysis, surveillance, information gathering and for human-machine interfaces.

Sequential beam splitting in a radiation sensing apparatus

A radiation imaging apparatus includes an imaging surface; a light source; and an array of micro mirrors that rotate via radiation absorbed in the micro mirrors and reflect light from the light source to generate a distribution of reflected light on the imaging surface. The array first micro mirrors and second micro mirrors. The first micro mirrors have a first structure and the second micro mirrors have a second structure different than the first structure. The second structure is configured to correct for one or more environmental influences on the radiation imaging apparatus. A photodetector captures an image of the distribution of reflected light on the imaging surface. A processor is coupled to the photodetector. A communication interface is coupled with the processor; and a computing device is located separately from the radiation imaging apparatus and in communication with the communication interface.

Micro mirror arrays for measuring electromagnetic radiation

Systems combining an optical camera and an infrared camera in a single device having a single output, the systems provide low cost production and a hybrid output having optical and infrared elements processed by a processor embedded in the single device, the output of the single device having a relatively low size image overlay and providing a full video stream having optical and infrared elements as well as a hybrid image having an overlay of the optical and infrared elements.
