The present invention relates to the field of luminescent crystals (LCs) of the core-shell type, components and devices comprising the same. Particularly, the present invention relates to the manufacturing of luminescent core-shell nanocrystals, wherein said nanocrystal core comprises or consists of a perovskite crystal having a size of 3-100 nm, and said nanocrystal shell comprises a metal oxide having a thickness of 0.5-10 nm and wherein said method comprises combining suitable starting materials under oxygen-free conditions. The invention further provides for specific luminescent core-shell nanocrystals, to components and products containing such luminescent core-shell nanocrystals.

Luminescent crystals with shells

The present invention relates to the field of luminescent crystals (LCs), and more specifically to Quantum Dots (QDs) of formula AMX, wherein the substituents are as defined in the specification. The invention provides methods of manufacturing such luminescent crystals, particularly by dispersing suitable starting materials in the presence of a liquid and by the aid of milling balls; to compositions comprising luminescent crystals and to electronic devices, decorative coatings; and to components comprising luminescent crystals.

Luminescent crystals and manufacturing thereof

Described are luminescent components with excellent performance and stability. The luminescent components comprise a solid material composition comprising luminescent crystalsfrom the class of perovskite crystals, embedded in a solid matrixcomprising a polymer P1 or Small Molecules SM1 and metal selected from Mg, Sr, Ba, Sc, Y, Zn, Cd, In, and Sb. Further described are components and devices comprising the same. Also described are methods for manufacturing such components and devices comprising such components and liquid compositions useful for such manufacturing.

Modified luminescent component

The present invention relates to the field of luminescent crystals (LCs), and more specifically to Quantum Dots (QDs) of formula MMX, wherein the substituents are as defined in the specification. The invention provides methods of manufacturing such luminescent crystals, particularly by dispersing suitable starting materials in the presence of a liquid and by the aid of milling balls; to compositions comprising luminescent crystals and to electronic devices, decorative coatings; and to intermediates comprising luminescent crystals.

The present invention relates in a first aspect to a solid polymer component comprising luminescent crystals of 3-500 nm size, surfactant and a hardened/cured polymer. In a second aspect of the invention, a luminescent component comprises a first element comprising the solid polymer component according to the first aspect and an encapsulation enclosing the first element. In a third aspect of the invention, a luminescent component comprises a first film comprising the solid polymer composition of the first aspect. A fourth aspect of the invention relates to a light emitting device comprising the luminescent component according to the second or third aspect of the invention and a light source.

Solid polymer composition

A display device includes a light emitter comprising a set of light emitter portions, wherein at least one light emitter portion of the set is configured to emit light with an excitation wavelength, and a color conversion layer including a set of conversion layer portions. At least one conversion layer portion of the set comprises a film comprising a solid polymer composition that includes luminescent crystals of perovskite structure, which are selected from compounds of formula (I): MMX(I), wherein Mrepresents Cs, Mrepresents Pb, and X independently represents anions selected from the group consisting of Cl, Br, I, cyanide, and thiocyanate. The luminescent crystals are of size between 3 nm and 3000 nm, and emit light of a wavelength in response to excitation by the light emitted by at least one corresponding light emitter portion of the set, wherein the excitation wavelength is shorter than the wavelength.

Display device

A luminescent component includes a first element comprising a first solid polymer composition, wherein the first solid polymer composition includes first luminescent crystals, wherein the first luminescent crystals are of the perovskite structure, and are selected from compounds of formula (I): MMX, wherein Mrepresents Cs, optionally doped with up to 30 mol % of one or more other metals having coordination number 12, Mrepresents Pb, optionally doped with up to 30 mol % of one or more other metals having coordination number 6, X independently represents anions selected from the group consisting of Cl, Br, I, cyanide, and thiocyanate. The first luminescent crystals are of size between 3 nm and 3000 nm, and emit light of a first wavelength in response to excitation by light with a wavelength shorter than the first wavelength. An encapsulation including a polymer or an inorganic matrix encloses the first element.

Luminescent component

A luminescent component comprises a first film comprising a first solid polymer composition and a second film comprising a second solid polymer composition. The first solid polymer composition comprises first luminescent crystals. The second solid polymer composition comprises second luminescent crystals. The first luminescent crystals are of size between 3 nm and 3000 nm, and emit red light in response to excitation by light with a shorter wavelength. The second luminescent crystals are of size between 3 nm and 3000 nm, and emit green light in response to excitation by light with a shorter wavelength. Said luminescent component is particularly suited for the application in LCD-backlight color conversion.
