A storage system can be located at a front end of a vehicle's rear cargo space. The vehicle can include a rear opening at the rear end of the cargo space and a closure selectively opening and closing the rear opening. The storage system can include a front panel located at the front end of the rear cargo space and a lid. The front panel can include an outer surface facing the rear cargo space and a storage space recessed from the outer surface. The lid can be selectively placed in a closed state and an opened state with respect to the front panel such that the lid conceals the storage space from the rear cargo space when the lid is in the closed state, and the storage space is opened to the rear cargo space when the lid is in opened state.

A storage system for a tire repair kit for a vehicle can be located at the front end of a rear cargo space of the vehicle. The storage system can include a front panel and a lid. The front panel can be located at the front end of the rear cargo space and include an outer surface facing the rear cargo space and a storage space recessed from the outer surface. The storage space can be configured to contain the tire repair kit. The lid can be connected to the front panel such that the lid is selectively placed in a closed state and an opened state, the lid conceals the storage space from the rear cargo space when the lid is in the closed state, and the storage space is opened to the rear cargo space when the lid is in opened state.

A vehicle includes a cargo area side panel assembly including a first panel and a second panel coupled to the first panel such that the first panel and the second panel cooperate to define a channel. The channel is defined by an upper wall, a lower wall, and a sidewall extending therebetween. The vehicle also includes a cargo cover assembly moveable between a retracted position and an extended position, wherein the cargo cover assembly comprises an engagement mechanism configured to engage said channel.

A modular side lining forming a portion of an interior surface of a motor vehicle includes a first lining member having a recessed portion, a side portion, and an upper surface portion, a second lining member, and a rear stiffener defining a rear edge of the recessed portion of the first lining member. The second lining member includes one of a plurality of bins configured to be received in the recessed portion of the first lining member and one of a plurality of lids covering a portion of the bin and forming a side surface of the modular side lining with the side portion of the first lining member. The combination of bins and lids may be selected based upon a plurality of different functional configurations.

Improved covers for floor-located vehicle identification numbers (VINs) are disclosed. Exemplary VIN cover embodiments may be of a simple one-piece design and may include tabs or other retention elements along underside edges thereof. The retention elements engage the vehicle carpet and trap the carpet when the cover is installed into a VIN viewing window provided in the carpet. The underside of the cover may also include a carpet gripping mechanism that engages the carpet surface and helps to maintain the position of the cover after installation. A section of vehicle carpet removed to permit viewing of the VIN may optionally be retained and installed to the underside of the cover so as to reside in the window area when the cover is in place.
