A curable coating composition precursor comprising a first part (A) and a second part (B). The first part (A) comprises at least one first epoxy curing agent selected from aliphatic and cycloaliphatic amines and any combinations and mixtures thereof. The second part (B) comprises at least epoxy compound selected from bisphenol A and bisphenol F diglycidylether resins, and any combinations and mixtures thereof; at least one polyfunctional epoxy resin; at least one novolac epoxy resin; and optionally, at least one reactive diluent, Part (A) and/or part (B) comprise at least one inorganic phosphate compound.

High chemical resistant coating as protection against aggressive environment

The present disclosure provides a method for bonding parts, comprising the following steps (a) Providing a two-component adhesive composition precursor, comprising a first part (A) comprising at least one epoxy curing agent and preferably at least one first dye; a second part (B) comprising at least one second dye different from the at least one first dye and at least one epoxy resin; (b) Mixing part (A) and part (B) of the two-component adhesive composition precursor so as to obtain an adhesive composition; (c) Applying the adhesive composition onto a first part; (d) Applying a second part onto the adhesive composition applied to the first part; and then performing a first curing step at a first temperature, wherein the adhesive composition undergoes a first colour change; or (e) Performing a first curing step at a first temperature, wherein the adhesive composition undergoes a first colour change, and then applying a second part onto the adhesive composition applied to the first part; (f) Perform a second curing step at a second temperature higher than the first temperature, thereby fully curing the adhesive composition so as to obtain a structural adhesive bond between the first and second parts, wherein the adhesive composition undergoes a second colour change.

Two-part adhesive composition that undergoes a visual change when cured

In one aspect of the present disclosure, there is provided a sealant precursor, comprising a first part (A) comprising (a1) an epoxy curing agent having an amine equivalent weight of at least 150 grams per mole of amine equivalents; (b1) a first epoxy curative; a second part (B) comprising (a2) a blend of epoxy resins comprising at least one bisphenol A epoxy resins and at least one bisphenol F epoxy resin; (b2) at least one silicone-based resin comprising epoxy functionalities; (c2) optionally, a toughener.

Epoxy-silicone hybrid sealant composition with low shrinkage and lower postcuring properties with chemical resistance for aerospace applications

The present disclosure is directed to a precursor composition for a curable adhesive, the precursor comprising: a) a part (A) comprising: i. a first epoxy curing agent comprising at least one polyether amine and having an amine equivalent weight of at least 45 grams per mole of amine equivalents; ii. a second epoxy curing agent distinct from the first epoxy curing agent; iii. a metal nitrate catalyst; iv. optionally, a metal triflate catalyst; and b) a part (B) comprising: i. an epoxy resin; ii. a filler material; iii. an epoxy-based reactive diluent; and iv. optionally, a core-shell polymer toughening agent; and wherein the amount of filler material is selected such as to provide the part (B) with a hysteresis area of at least 30 Pa&#xd7;1/s, when measured at 23 C according to the test method described in the experimental section. The compositions of the present disclosure are particularly suitable for use in structural bonding applications, in particular for adhesively bonding small parts in manufacturing operations in aeronautic and aerospace industries. The present disclosure also relates to method of using such epoxy resin based curable compositions.
