A reversible tensioning device for an orthotic that includes: a cover; an insert rotatably disposed within the cover; a slot within the cover; a peg fixedly disposed on the insert and slidably located within the slot on the cover, the peg configured to slide between a first end portion and a second end portion of the slot; a spring fixedly attached to the cover and the insert and configured to urge the cover and the insert in opposite rotational directions; a first flange surface on the cover; and a second flange surface on the insert and facing an opposite direction from the first raised surface. The first flange surface and the second flange surface are configured to operably couple with third and fourth flange surfaces on an orthotic device to provide opposing forces on the reversible tensioning device.

Orthotic brace and clip attachment mechanism and orthotic spring tensioner

A sole attachment assembly for attachment to an orthotic bar having a sole to retain a shoe of a user and a quick release member to couple to an orthotic bar. The sole includes a sole body, a release member receiver, a platform on the receiver, guide wings, a centering projection, and a release button barrier spanning between the guide wings. The quick release member includes a release member body, wings extending laterally from the release member body to slide within the guide wings, a locking tab to keep the quick release member coupled to the shoe sole by interfacing with the quick release button barrier, a locating recess in a top portion of the body configured to provide enhanced stability by interfacing with the platform on the sole, and a centering notch at the front of the body configured to interface with the centering projection on the sole.

Orthotic brace and clip attachment mechanism

A foot orthotic having a foot support where the foot support includes a thermoplastic outer shell, a closed cell foam liner within the outer shell, and a tongue to secure the user's foot within the foot support. The orthotic also typically has includes a lower leg support that includes a thermoplastic outer shell, a closed cell foam liner within the outer shell, and a strap to secure the orthotic to the user's leg within the lower leg support. A cinching mechanism that typically has a rotatable tightening knob is on the lower leg support, and a tightening cable coupled to the rotatable tightening knob and operably connected to the foot support.

An AFO for use in the Ponseti method which is bar-less and provides for readily interchangeable structures for providing differing articulation resistance. In one embodiment, the readily interchangeable structure is a flexible member achieving connection between and the majority of the separation between the shoe and the calf engaging structure. In another embodiment, an articulated arm with two rigid segments joined at a spring loaded hinge, with interchangeable spring canisters is used.

Method and apparatus for correcting foot and ankle problems and problems with gait

A stabilizer shock mount attachable to a bow stabilizer assists in quieting the stabilizer during the drawing of a bow and after the bow is fired. The stabilizer shock mount has a first end attachable to the bow and a second end attachable to the bow stabilizer. The stabilizer shock mount allows the bow stabilizer to flex such that the vibrations from the bow stabilizer will not be transferred back to the bow. Additionally, when drawing the bow, the stabilizer shock mount allows the bow stabilizer to achieve stillness more quickly.

A neck support/brace for protecting a neck has a flexible collar with a top wall, bottom wall, sidewalls and sectional walls disposed therebetween that form compartments therein. A plurality of cells are disposed within the compartment. Each of the fluid cells have a valve element disposed therein. When the pressure acting upon the cells is below a threshold pressure, fluid or air flows through the valve element to allow movement of the neck. Alternatively when the pressure on the cells is above the threshold pressure the valve element closes preventing fluid or air flow out of the fluid cell thus causing the cell to stay inflated and provide resistance to a neck movement.

Reinforcing bar protection cap

A protective cover for the ends of reinforcing bars has a cylindrical tube having upper and lower ends. A cap is mounted on the upper end of the tube and is comprised of a continuous circular wall extending upwardly and outwardly from the upper end of the tube, with a bottom covering the top of the tube. A post extends upwardly from the center of the bottom, and a plurality of spaced rib elements are secured to and extend radially outwardly from the post for connection to the wall. A canopy is secured to the upper edge of the wall and extends slightly downwardly therefrom. The canopy has a circular perimeter which has a downwardly extending circular flange extending therearound. The ribs are tied together by secondary ribs. Friction bars are located within the tube to create friction between the tub and a bar upon which it is mounted.
