A hedge trimmer having a rear handle, a tubular handle and a blade arrangement with at least one cutter bar disposed in a cutter bar plane. An internal combustion engine drives the cutter bars in a reciprocating manner, and has a combustion chamber and a crankshaft mounted in a crankcase so as to be rotatable about an axis of rotation. The combustion chamber faces the rear handle, and the crankcase faces the blade arrangement. The blade arrangement has a longitudinal central axis, and the hedge trimmer has a longitudinal plane that is disposed parallel to the axis of rotation of the crankshaft and transverse to the cutter bar plane. The longitudinal central axis of the blade arrangement lies in the longitudinal plane of the hedge trimmer.

Hedge trimmer

A spray head is provided for a blower tube of a spray apparatus. The blower tube is adapted to conduct a blower air flow to the spray head () in a flow direction (). The spray head includes a supply pipe () for a medium to be sprayed such as a liquid. The spray head also includes an inlet opening for receiving the blower air flow () and an outlet opening through which the blower air flow is discharged from the spray head enriched with the medium. The supply pipe () has an outer feed connection for the medium and a discharge opening () in the interior of the spray head for admixing the medium into the blower air flow (). The discharge opening () defines a plane aligned in the flow direction () and an impediment is disposed at the edge of the discharge opening lying upstream with respect to the flow direction (). The impediment disturbs the blower air flow entering the spray head through the inlet opening before it flows over the discharge opening. In this way, noise excitation is avoided while obtaining a good atomization of the medium.

A protective shield for a trimmer having a cutting head that is rotatable about an axis of rotation and supports a cutting thread that rotates about an axis of rotation with the cutting head and determines a cutting circle, covers at least partially the cutting circle. The protective cover has a base member and a cutting-to-length blade arranged on the base member so as to be positioned circumferentially relative to a cutting circle of the rotating cutting thread. The cutting-to-length blade has a cutting edge that, relative to the axis of rotation of the rotating cutting thread, is arranged in an axially displaced position displaced in an axial direction relative to the cutting circle. A device for axially deflecting the rotating cutting thread out of the cutting circle to the cutting edge is provided.
