A household appliance for performing a cycle of operation according to a cycle of operation. The household appliance includes a cabinet defining a treating chamber, a tub located within the cabinet interior and defining a tub interior and having an access opening, a rotatable drum located within the tub interior, a user interface carried by the cabinet and coupled to a controller to provide data communication between the controller and a user, a pedestal for supporting the cabinet and comprising a liquid recirculation system for recirculating liquid to the treating chamber, at least one consumable received in a dock positioned in the pedestal for use in performing the cycle of operation, and, a luminary communication interface physically separated from the user interface and configured to emit at least one of colored light motion or light intensity patterns to illustrate a status of the at least one consumable.

A cartridge for a laundry appliance includes an outer housing having an interior chamber therein. The outer housing includes a primary axis and a secondary axis that is perpendicular to the primary axis. A pump is contained within the outer housing that selectively delivers a laundry chemistry from the interior chamber to a dispensing outlet of the outer housing. The dispensing outlet is defined within a contoured edge of the outer housing and orients the dispensing outlet at an oblique angle with respect to the primary and secondary axes. A rotational drive is operated by an external actuator. The rotational drive is positioned within the outer housing and in operable communication with the pump. The rotational drive aligns with a drive aperture defined within a wall of the outer housing for receiving the external actuator.

Chemistry dispensing system for a laundry appliance having removable chemistry cartridges

A refrigerator includes a cabinet defining an interior volume and a door for accessing the interior volume. An ice maker is disposed within the interior volume harvesting ice. The ice maker includes a frame and a motor. An ice tray includes a first end engaged with the motor, a second end engaged to the frame and a plurality ice wells defined by a plurality of weirs including first and second sets of weirs positioned proximate the first and second ends respectively, and interior weirs positioned therebetween. Each of the first and second sets of weirs and the internal weirs include a passage bifurcating each weir into first and second weir portions. Each of the passages defined by the first and second sets of weirs have a cross-sectional area that is greater than a cross-sectional area of any one of the passages defined by the internal weirs.

Method and apparatus for increasing rate of ice production in an automatic ice maker

A laundry appliance includes a cabinet. A door is coupled to the cabinet. The door is operable between an opened position and a closed position. An audio interface is disposed on the door. The audio interface includes a microphone for receiving a voice command and a speaker for projecting an audio output. A visual interface is disposed on the door. The visual interface is configured to display a message in response to at least one of the voice command and the audio output. A microcontroller is disposed on the door. The microcontroller is operably coupled to the audio interface and the visual interface. A proximity sensor is configured to communicate sensed information to the microcontroller. The microcontroller is configured to activate at least one of the audio interface and the visual interface in response to the sensed information.

User-interface system for a laundry appliance

A laundry treating appliance includes a chassis defining an interior. A rotatable treating chamber is located within the interior and has an access opening. A cover is movably mounted to the chassis for selective movement between opened and closed positions to open and close the access opening. The laundry treating appliance further comprises a spray arm assembly having a spray head.

An ice maker assembly includes an ice maker that has a mounting plate that includes an engagement feature with an engagement surface. An ice storage bin is configured for insertion into an ice maker receiving space of the ice maker. The ice storage bin includes a retention surface configured to engage with the mounting plate when the ice storage bin is inserted into the ice maker receiving space and an ice bin base that defines a track system configured to move the ice storage bin both vertically and horizontally. The track system includes an elongate portion configured to move the ice storage bin horizontally and a widened portion configured to facilitate vertical movement of the ice storage bin.

A laundry appliance includes a cabinet and a tub that is disposed within the cabinet. A first door is coupled to the cabinet and is operable between open and closed positions. A second door is operably coupled to the tub. The second door is configured to move with the tub and independently of the first door in the closed position. A coupling member is at least partially disposed on the first door. The first and second doors are operably coupled by the coupling member.

A dishwasher has a tub defining a wash chamber with an open face, a pivoting door having an open position and a closed position, a slide system having a first rail including a transition element, a second rail slidably interconnected with the first rail for relative sliding, and a dish rack rotatably connected to the slide system by a pivot system. The pivot system is attached to the transition element to cooperatively pivot with the door as the door is moving from the open position to the closed position.

An ice maker assembly is provided that includes an ice maker. A mounting plate is positioned within an ice maker receiving space. The mounting plate defines a plurality of engagement features extending into the ice maker receiving space. A rail system is disposed on opposite sides of the ice maker receiving space. An ice storage bin is removably positioned within the ice maker receiving space. The ice storage bin comprises an ice bin wall positioned on an ice bin base. An auger assembly is disposed through the ice bin base. A latch is slidably disposed along a bottom surface of the ice bin base. The latch includes a plurality of retention features that cooperate with the engagement features. Horizontal movement of the latch causes vertical motion of the ice storage bin.
