A spherical roller bearing providing an inner ring, an outer ring, rollers for rolling on raceways arranged on the rings, and a cage for holding the rollers spaced apart from each other. The cage having an annular core and a plurality of bars delimitating a plurality of pockets for the rollers, the annular core including two side faces from which the bars protrude axially outwardly, the inner and outer rings being rotatable with respect to each other around a bearing axis. The annular core further provides a plurality of spacing elements that protrude from the side faces of the annular core designed to come into contact with side faces of the rollers in order to prevent the rollers from moving axially towards the center of the bearing.

Spherical roller bearing

A spherical roller bearing having a specific pitch circle diameter (PCD) that includes an outer ring, an inner ring, a plurality of roller elements arranged in first and second roller rows, each roller element providing an axially inner end, and a cage for guiding the roller elements in the first and second roller row, the cage having a plurality of cage pockets. One of the roller elements disposed within each cage pocket. Each respective cage pocket has a bottom that faces the axially inner end of the roller element in each cage pocket. A radially inner end of the cage pocket bottom contacts the axially inner end of the roller element only at a location radially equal to the specific PCD, the cage pocket bottom angled such that the cage pocket bottom abuts the axially inner end of the roller element at an angle such the contact is not flush.

Double-row spherical roller bearing

A double-row spherical roller bearing comprising an outer ring which presents a first and a second spherical raceway on a radially inner peripheral surface, an inner ring which presents a first and a second outer curved-shaped raceway. Moreover, roller elements are arranged in a first and second roller row being axially displaced from each other, and arranged in-between the respective first and second inner raceways of the outer ring and the first and second outer raceways of the inner ring. The outer ring includes a first groove on the radially inner peripheral surface located in-between the first and second inner raceways, extending radially outwardly and in the circumferential direction of the ring. The first and second inner raceways have hard turned surfaces. The first groove presents a hardened surface which has not undergone any post-hardening machining operation. The double-row spherical roller bearing can be a wind turbine bearing arrangement.

Double-row spherical roller bearing, manufacturing method and wind turbine bearing arrangement

A double-row spherical roller bearing, comprising an outer ring including at least one spherical inner raceway on a radially inner peripheral surface, an inner ring including a first and second axial end and at least one outer raceway on a radially outer peripheral surface. Spherical roller elements are located in first and second roller rows interposed in-between the inner and outer raceways. A first flange is located at the first axial end, extending in a circumferential direction of the outer peripheral surface. The inner ring is subjected to an axial load in a first axial direction wherein the first flange approaches the first roller row. An axial extension of the first flange extends without contacting any first roller row roller elements during bearing operation, when an axial load is acting on the inner ring in the first axial direction. The bearing can be integrated into a wind turbine.

A bearing arrangement for low speed rotating machinery includes a shaft and at least one double row spherical roller bearing supporting the shaft. The bearing has an inner ring providing a radially outer circumferential surface having a first and a second inner raceway and an annular portion separating the first and second inner raceway in an axial direction. An outer ring provides a radially inner circumferential surface with at least one outer raceway. Spherical rollers are located in a first and a second roller row, the first and second roller row disposed between the at least one outer raceway and the first and second respective inner raceway. A cage has a central portion located between the roller rows. The central portion provides a radially inner circumferential surface and axial protrusions to separate at least two rollers in one of the first and second rollers rows.

Moreover, the bearing includes a cage for one of guiding and retaining the roller elements in the first and second roller row, the cage including a plurality of cage pockets, wherein one of the roller elements is disposed within each cage pocket, and wherein the cage is roller centered by the axially inner ends.

A spherical roller bearing having an axially extending center axis, an outer ring, an inner ring concentric with the outer ring, a guide ring concentric with the inner and outer rings, the guide ring has two lateral surfaces, one set of cambered rollers on either side of the guide ring and a cage structure arranged to retain the two sets of cambered rollers. The guide ring includes two circumferential guide ring sections, an inner guide ring section proximal to the inner ring and an outer guide ring section distal to the inner ring. The guide ring having two circumferential guide ring sections, an inner guide ring section proximal to the inner ring and an outer guide ring section distal to the inner ring. At least one through-opening extends between two lateral surfaces of the guide ring. The at least one through-opening is arranged in the inner guide ring section and the cambered rollers of each set are distanced from the inner guide ring section and in contact with the outer guide ring section.
