A card cassette device of a card dispensing apparatus ensures elimination of measures for illegally opening a card outlet from the outside in a non-mounted state and makes it possible to open the card outlet according to the necessity in a mounted state, raising security level. A movable shutter for opening and closing a card outlet has a stopper member engaging hole and a lock member engaging hole. A stopper member is engaged with the stopper member engaging hole by a stopper member moving device, thereby fixing the shutter in its closed state in the non-mounted state. A lock member is engaged with the lock member engaging hole by a lock member moving device, thereby canceling the closed state of the shutter and locking the shutter in its open state in the mounted state.

Card cassette device and card dispensing apparatus using the same

A card dispenser is provided comprising a capture chamber configured to receive a card dispensed from a read position by a card feed mechanism, the capture chamber comprising walls defining an exit aperture for dispensing a card to a user. A capture flap is moveable from a first orientation to a second orientation, wherein in the first orientation the capture flap is arranged to block the exit aperture so as to prevent a card from passing through said exit aperture, and in the second orientation the capture flap is arranged to guide a card through said exit aperture. If a first output is received from a communication module, the capture flap is held at the first orientation such that a card dispensed from a read position moves under the influence of gravity through the capture chamber into a card bin. If a second output is received, the capture flap is moved from the first orientation to the second orientation such that a card dispensed from the read position slides along the capture flap under the influence of gravity through the exit aperture.

A disk sorting device includes a housing defining a disk transport path for conveying disks from a disk transferring device. A disk identifying device is located adjacent the disk transport path for identifying the type of disk passing along the transport path. A disk diverting mechanism in the disk transport path downstream of the disk identifying device is operable to divert disks in accordance with the type of the disk determined by the disk identifying device into a selected one of at least a return path in which a disk returns to the disk transferring device and a dispense path in which a disk is directed towards a dispense outlet. The disk transport path is oriented with a vertical component whereby disks pass along the path and the diverting mechanism under gravity.

Disk sorting device

A card dispensing cassette includes a housing in which cards are stacked. A dispense outlet is provided in the housing through which cards are laterally dispensed from the cassette. A card retainer, cooperating with the dispense outlet, is slidably mounted to the cassette for substantially lateral movement between a closed position in which cards cannot be dispensed and an open position in which cards can be dispensed. The card retainer has a retaining lip which engages any cards protruding through the dispense outlet when the card retainer moves to its closed position so as to return those cards into the cassette.
