Disclosed is a method for preparing a nozzle surface provided with a coating having anti-wetting and anti-fouling property. The method is based, for example, on the self-healing property of the coating used in the method. Also disclosed is a nozzle surface having such coating and a print head having the nozzle surface.

Inkjet print head having two actuator membranes

A print head configured for ejecting droplets of ink comprises a nozzle surface having arranged thereon at least one nozzle and a pattern of wetting sections and anti-wetting sections, arranged around the nozzle. The wetting sections interchange on a circular line, concentric with the nozzle, with anti-wetting sections. The pattern of wetting sections and anti-wetting sections is configured such that it provides a driving force for droplets to move away from the nozzle. The invention further relates to a printing apparatus, comprising said nozzle.

An orifice plate for an ink jet print-head for ejecting drops of an ink, wherein the orifice plate includes an outer surface, which has a wettability with the ink, and at least one orifice arranged in the outer surface, said orifice being configured for ejecting ink drops, each orifice having an edge, the edge defining a transition boundary between the orifice and the outer surface, wherein the wettability of the outer surface is poor near the edge of the at least one orifice and the wettability increases with increasing distance from the edge of the orifice, the increasing wettability with the increasing distance from the edge of the orifice providing a driving force for moving residual ink drops away from the edge towards a wettable region, thereby reducing the risk of disturbing the trajectories of subsequent ejected ink drops.

An inkjet system including a printhead with an ink-fillable chamber operatively connected to a piezoelectric actuator and provided with a nozzle for the ejection of ink drops in response to the energization of the actuator, which actuator is connected to a measuring circuit for measuring an electrical signal generated by the actuator in response to the deformation thereof, wherein the system is configured such that a natural frequency of said system corresponds substantially to a natural frequency of a disturbance in the system.
