A method of controlling a head-up display (HUD) of a vehicle to adjust the vertical position of a light bundle generated by the HUD to match an eye of a vehicle driver. A camera is operated to capture an image of a head of the vehicle driver reflected in a combiner of the head-up display. An electronic processor analyzes the image captured by the camera and determines a position of a driver's eye. The processor controls operation of an electric motor to automatically adjust the position of the combiner to align a light bundle or eyebox generated by the projector and reflected by the combiner with the eye position determined by the processor.

Method of operating a vehicle head-up display

The invention relates to a head-up display system, in particular in the form of a head-up display system for displaying graphical elements on the windshield () of a motor vehicle, with a projection unit () arranged in the area of the front vehicle dashboard () of the motor vehicle, which is configured to emit preferably p-polarized light rays () preferably in the direction of a part of the windshield () providing a projection surface (), wherein the windshield () is configured to reflect the light rays emitted by the projection unit (). To enable a flexible adjustability of the reflection angle of the light rays incident on the windshield, to prevent the occurrence of the 'ghost' effect and to ensure a cost-effective production of the head-up display system and of the windshield, a nanostructure () formed of structural elements () is provided at least in the part of the windshield () providing the projection surface (), wherein the structural elements () are inclined at an angle of inclination (&#x3b3;) in relation to a surface normal (N) of the windshield ().

Head-up display system for a vehicle

The disclosure relates to a head-up display for a vehicle. The head-up display includes a combiner screen that is arranged between a viewer and a window pane of the vehicle. The combiner screen reflects an image, which is generated by an image generating and imaging device at a front-side reflection surface, which faces the viewer, to the viewer. The viewer can perceive the generated image as an imaginary image located behind the combiner screen. A polarization filter is attached on a rearward side, which is remote from the viewer, of the reflection surface of the combiner screen.

Head-up display for a vehicle

A selector lever arrangement for an automatic transmission of a motor vehicle includes a selector lever which is pivotable about a pivot axis and has the purpose of generating a selector movement. It also includes connecting mechanism for transferring the selector movement to the automatic transmission, and a connecting arrangement for transmitting the selector movement from the selector lever to the connecting mechanism. The connecting arrangement includes a planetary gear mechanism. The selector lever is connected to the input side of the planetary gear mechanism and the connecting mechanism is connected to the output side of the planetary gear mechanism.
