A painting-installation cleaning system is provided for cleaning at least one component of a painting installation, in particular at least one component of a painting robot or of a handling robot, characterized by at least one dry-ice nozzle for producing a dry-ice jet which cleans the component.

Dry-ice cleaning in a painting installation

A turbine rotor, e.g., for a drive turbine of a rotary atomizer, is disclosed having a rotatably supported turbine shaft with the potential for mounting an atomizer wheel, and having at least one drive turbine wheel having a plurality of turbine blades. The turbine blades of the drive turbine wheel may be impinged on during operation by a drive fluid in order to drive the turbine rotor. The drive turbine wheel may be designed for the drive fluid to axially impinge on the turbine blades. A complete drive turbine having such a turbine rotor is also disclosed, as well as a complete rotary atomizer and individual exemplary components of the drive turbine.

A rotary atomizer arrangement and methods for operating the same are disclosed. An exemplary atomizer may be used for the coating of work pieces, and may include a bell plate driven by an electric motor. The exemplary atomizer may further be configured for the detection of errors in the spraying process and/or the drive system of the bell plate, such as by analyzing corresponding parameters of typical values of the drive motor.

Method for process diagnosis and rotary atomizer arrangement

A rotary sprayer for a coating apparatus is disclosed. An exemplary rotary sprayer may include a spraying body configured to be mounted on a drive shaft of a drive motor for rotation with the drive shaft. The spraying body may further include a detachable mounting device for coaxial connection of the spraying body to the drive shaft. The detachable mounting device may include a spraying body thread that mates with a driveshaft thread defined by the drive shaft, and a plurality of elastic tabs configured to abut a corresponding cavity defined by the driveshaft, such that rotation of the spraying body increases an abutment force between the elastic tabs and the corresponding cavity of the driveshaft.

Exemplary coating devices and methods are disclosed. An exemplary coating device may include an atomizer for applying a spray jet of a coating means or material to a component, at least one directing air nozzle for outputting shaping or directing air in order to shape the spray jet, and a temperature-control device for controlling the temperature of the directing air. The coating device may further include a control unit which activates the temperature-control device as a function of at least one operating variable of the atomizer in order to set a predetermined directing air temperature.

A robot arrangement, for example for a painting booth, and exemplary methods associated with the same, are disclosed. An exemplary robot arrangement may comprise a displacement rail, a plurality of robots, such as painting robots or handling robots, which can be displaced along the displacement rail, and a plurality of energy supply chains. The energy supply chains may supply one of the robots each, and may be associated with said robot, and each of the energy supply chains may run along the displacement rail in a particular track. The energy supply chains which are associated with the robots on the same displacement rail may run in discrete tracks.

Exemplary robots and corresponding exemplary operating methods for a painting system are disclosed. In one example, the robot is a handling robot for opening and closing doors or bonnets of motor vehicle bodies. A robot element of a handling robot that is susceptible to dirt retention, e.g., a handling tool, may be arranged away from the spray jet of a paint during the painting operation and is applied to the component that is to be painted. The robot may include a cleaning device for cleaning or for keeping the robot element of the handling robot that is susceptible to dirt retention clean from paint that is applied with spray jet in the painting operation.

A coating zone comprises a conveyor for transporting an application object. At least one guide rail extends through the coating zone adjacent the conveyor, arranged above the conveyor at a height at least at the level of the top of the object. At least one robot may move along the conveyor on the guide rail, the robot having a first axis for joint rotation of at least one moving member of the robot in relation to a main body guided along the guide rail. A load-bearing structure supports the at least one guide rail, the load-bearing structure including at least one load-bearing pillar extending substantially vertically downwards from the level of the guide rail. The guide rail and the main body of the robot are arranged in such a way that the first axis of the robot is inclined relative to a vertical plane parallel to the conveying direction.

A transformer arrangement is disclosed for an electrostatic sprayer or in an adjacent moving element of a coating machine. A transformer provides a galvanic isolation between the line arrangement provided for supplying power to the sprayer arrangement, and consumers at high voltage in the sprayer or possibly in the robot arm. This isolation may be provided with an isolating transformer which has a sufficient isolation distance or other isolation device between the primary and secondary circuits.

Electrostatic spraying arrangement

A dedusting device and method is disclosed for the dry or moist dedusting (i.e., cleaning, dusting, or removal of dirt, dust, or other debris) from components, e.g., of motor vehicles. An exemplary method may generally include positioning a dusting tool driven by a drive motor in a predetermined dusting position such that the tool contacts or touches the component, and determining a first operating variable of the drive motor of the dusting tool when positioning the dusting tool in the predetermined dusting position. The first operating variable may reflect a mechanical load of the drive motor due to the contact with the component to be dusted. The method may further include calculating a corrected dusting position as a function of the predetermined dusting position and the first operating variable of the drive motor, and positioning the dusting tool in the corrected dusting position.

Furthermore, the invention comprises a corresponding coating apparatus.

Coating zones having guide elevated rails for coating and/or handling robots are disclosed. The coating zones may include walk-in control areas positioned one above the other on the outside of the side walls. In the upper control area, in which control and supply devices for robots on elevated guide rails may be provided, the side wall may generally slant inward. Load-bearing structures for the elevated guide rails may be braced by supporting members extending generally perpendicular to the line of conveyance of the application objects on or under the floor level or at the ceiling.
