The invention relates to an electrically conductive contact element () for an electric plug connector. The electrically conductive contact element () comprises a contact region () for making detachable electric contact with a mating contact element of a mating plug connector, and comprises a cable connecting region () for the connection of a cable. The contact element () comprises a cooling cavity (), which opens into a distal opening () of the cable connecting region () which is arranged opposite the contact region ().

A contact arrangement () comprising fork-shaped contacts () that engage opposite faces of a blade contact (). For good heat dissipation together with low transition resistance, the contact arrangement is made up of multiple planar, i.e., plate-shaped, fork contacts (), which are supported and connected to each other on a shaft-like carrier () that is joined to a perpendicular connecting unit ().
