Computer-based methods and devices for identifying devices and objects that can be targeted for the purpose of establishing a communication session are described. In an example embodiment, a mobile handset displays a visual indication of the location of devices in proximity relative to the location and orientation of the mobile handset. A mobile handset includes object recognition logic for determining when the mobile handset is targeting another device with which the mobile handset is authorized to communicate. In some cases, the targeted device may be a non-computing object serving as a proxy for another computing device.

Method and device for identifying devices which can be targeted for the purpose of establishing a communication session

A method to receive an image to be displayed within an animation sequence. The method also including calculating position data identifying a position of the image within a display area, the position data calculated using a physics property attributed to the image. Further, the method including the transmission of the position data for use in generating the animation sequence. Additionally, a method is provided that includes making a request for an animation sequence that includes an image and position data for the image, the position data identifying a plurality of positions relative to a display area and calculated though applying a physics property to the image. This method further includes receiving the animation sequence for display in a display area. The method additionally includes displaying the image in the display area based upon the position data.

Generating customized effects for image presentation

Computer-based methods and devices for establishing a content mirroring session during which two devices concurrently present or display the same content are disclosed. Consistent with an embodiment of the invention, a first device displays a visual indicator when the first device is physically positioned and oriented to target a second device, with which the first device is authorized to establish a content mirroring session. The visual indicator, which may be a graphical user interface element such as a button or icon, identifies the device that is being targeted by the first device, and in some embodiments, indicates to a user that a content mirroring session can be established with the targeted device.

Method and device for establishing a content mirroring session

A method includes enabling accessing of content via a first device. The access of the content may be suspended in response to receiving a suspending signal associated with a second device coupled to the first device in a communication session. The access of the content may be resumed via at least one of the first device or a third device coupled to the first device in the communication session.

A two-dimensional tree representation of a hierarchical data structure is displayed. A first transitional animation is generated that graphically represents a first portion of the two-dimensional tree representation of the hierarchical data structure as a sequence of three-dimensional parallelograms, the sequence to be displayed between a first location with respect to the two-dimensional tree representation and a second location with respect to a two-dimensional tree representation of the hierarchical data structure. A final form three-dimensional parallelogram included in the sequence of three-dimensional parallelograms is displayed at the second location with respect to the three-dimensional tree representation of the hierarchical data structure.

Transitional animation for generating tree maps

Generating typefaces from various images is disclosed in which any image, whether from a still photograph or a video frame, is analyzed to find various patterns existing in the image. These patterns may be evident from the image itself or may be discovered by applying various transforms to the image. The patterns obtained from the image are then compared against existing characters in existing typefaces in trying to find correlations between individual patterns and individual characters of the existing typefaces. When correlations are found, the character image representing the pattern that resembles the existing typeface character is analyzed for various typeface properties, such as weight, width, angle, and the like. Using these determined typeface properties and the visual elements of the character image, an entire set of characters making up a new typeface is generated.
