The invention provides a lamp with adjustable beam cut-off, useful for e.g. vehicle headlamps. The lamp comprises a solid-state light sourceand a reflector, as well as a movable beam limiter. To adjust the cut-off, the beam limitermay be moved by an actuator. An advantage is that the beam limiterreflects incident light into the emitted beam instead of absorbing it, which increases efficiency. Furthermore, because the reflectorand also the beam limitermay be positioned very close to the light source, which may be a LED or a laser diode, they may be flat and very small. Both circumstances ensure that the beam cut-off may be adjusted very quickly.

The invention relates to a lighting device comprising a light source () which is mounted on a heat sink () having an outer contour (). Furthermore, it comprises a cooling device () for dynamically cooling the light source via cooling of the heat sink by means of a fluid flowing alongside the contour of the heat sink, the cooling device having one or a plurality of cooling openings (). The cooling device is a vibrating membrane cooling system for generating a sequence of fluid pulses (). The cooling openings are arranged alongside the heat sink. The light source comprises optical means () for collimating and directing light originating from the light source during operation, while the contour of the heat sink has a shape similar to that of the optical means.

Lighting device

The invention provides an illumination device (), arranged to provide illumination device light (). The illumination device () comprising a light chamber (), an electrically variable scattering element (), and a controller (). The light chamber () contains a light emitting diode () (LED) arranged to emit LED light (); comprises a luminescent material layer () arranged remote from the LED () and arranged to absorb at least part of the LED light () and emit luminescent material emission (); and comprises an exit face (), through which one or more of the LED light () and the luminescent material emission () may escape to the exterior () of the light chamber () thereby providing illumination device light (). The electrically variable scattering element () is arranged downstream of the luminescent material layer () and upstream of the exit face (). The controller () is electrically connected to the electrically variable scattering element () and arranged to control the scattering of the electrically variable scattering element (). Such device may allow the possibility of color tuning and/or correlated color temperature tuning of the illumination device light.

The invention relates to an illumination device (), comprising: at least one LED () having an emission maximum in a first wavelength range; at least one LED () having an emission maximum in a second wavelength range; and a wavelength converting material () arranged to receive light of at least said first light wavelength range and having an emission maximum in a third wavelength range which is between said first wavelength range and said second wavelength range. The illumination device according to the invention may provide white light of acceptable overall color rendering while producing particularly high saturation of selected colors.

A lighting device () is disclosed. The device comprises a plurality of light sources () providing light in different wavelengths, a collimating means () having a receiving end () and an output end (), wherein said light sources are arranged at said receiving end. The collimating means comprises a set of wavelength selective filters () arranged as sub-collimators () to each of said plurality of light sources such that, for each light source, said sub-collimator collimates the light from its light source, and said wavelength selective filter of said each light source is translucent for light from adjacent light sources of different wavelength, wherein said wavelength selective filters are high pass or low pass filters.

A lighting device () is disclosed. The device comprises a plurality of light sources () providing light in different wavelengths, a collimating means () having a receiving end () and an output end (), wherein said light sources are arranged at said receiving end. The collimating means comprises a set of wavelength selective filters () arranged as sub-collimators () to each of said plurality of light sources such that, for each light source, said sub-collimator collimates the light from its light source, and said wavelength selective filter of said each light source is translucent for light from adjacent light sources of different wavelength, and a second set of wavelength selective filters comprising compensation filters () wherein each compensation filter is arranged symmetrically with respect to corresponding part of the wavelength selective filter of said first set around a general light direction of the corresponding light source.

An illumination device () for pixelated illumination of a target area () comprising: an array () of light emitting devices; projection optics () arranged in between the array () of light emitting devices and the target area (); a reflecting structure () having a first opening () facing the array () of light emitting devices and a second opening () facing the projection optics (), and a reflective surface connecting the first and second opening, the surface enclosing and facing an optical axis () of the projection optics (). The projection optics () is adapted to image the array () of light emitting devices, and a virtual extension thereof created by the reflecting structure (), onto the target area (), thereby generating an extended pixelated illumination pattern (). By utilizing a reflecting structure to create a virtual extension of the array of light emitting devices, a high degree of pixelation can be achieved in the illumination pattern while minimizing the number of light emitting devices required. Thus, increased efficiency and reduce costs can be achieved.

A display device () comprising a plurality of lighting units (), each lighting unit comprising at least one light emitting diode () being provided with a fluorescent element () arranged to absorb at least part of the light emitted by said light emitting diode and emit light of a wavelength range different from that of the absorbed light is provided. The fluorescent element () comprises at least one phosphor being an europium(II)-activated halogeno-oxonitridosilicate of the general formula EaSiN:EuOX.

The present invention relates to a light emitting diode (LED) device () comprising (a plurality of LED chips () placed on a substrate, and a plurality of light guiding elements () each having and an entrance window () and an exit window () wherein the elements are arranged for allowing light from at least one LED chip to be transferred from the entrance window to the exit window, and wherein the elements are further arranged so that said exit windows form several inner side surfaces () of a cavity (), which cavity further has an exit aperture () for allowing extraction of light from the device. This configuration allows for a high brightness LED device.
