The present disclosure relates to a closure latch assembly and system for a vehicle closure panel equipped with a latch mechanism having a latched position and an unlatched position and a power release mechanism moveable between home position, a release position and a double pull position and/or a child lock position, wherein a motor is operable to move the power release mechanism from the home position to the release position and from the home position to the double pull position and/or the child lock position, and wherein an emergency backup mechanism in mechanically coupled communication with the latch mechanism can be mechanically actuated from a non-deployed position to a deployed position to move a pawl from a ratchet holding position to a ratchet releasing position regardless of the position of the power release mechanism, wherein the emergency backup mechanism is prevented from generating rattling noise while in the non-deployed position.

A closure latch assembly for a motor vehicle closure system includes a power release mechanism and an inside handle release mechanism mechanically connected to an inside door handle. The power release mechanism is used to shift the inside handle release mechanism from a normally Disengaged operating state to an Engaged operating state. In the Disengaged state, the inside handle release mechanism is uncoupled from the latch release chain of components to prevent latch release via actuation of the inside door handle. A low release effort eccentric double pawl vehicle latch includes a ratchet, primary pawl, auxiliary ratchet and secondary pawl in combination with a secure lock lever. The secure lock lever selectively inhibits movement of the secondary pawl to prevent premature or unintended opening of the latch. A drive mechanism sequences movement of the secure lock lever and secondary pawl to open the latch. Upon reset, the drive mechanism drives the auxiliary ratchet back to its closed state and in the process the auxiliary ratchet can engage and return the secondary pawl back to a closed state in the event of an insufficient bias force thereon.

A low release effort eccentric double ratchet, double pawl vehicle latch includes a ratchet, a primary pawl, an auxiliary ratchet and a secondary pawl. A drive mechanism including a gear cam wheel sequences movement of the secondary pawl to open and reset the latch. Upon reset, the drive mechanism actuates the auxiliary ratchet back to a closed state in a soft manner without using a hard stop; instead the latch has a cushioning spring that is used to softly stop the gear train during the reset absorbing motor energy and thus eliminating impact noise.
