A station () for inspecting rolled strips wound in coils, comprises: &#x2014;a first pair of mutually opposed pinch rolls (), adapted to receive and feed a rolled strip () from a coil (); &#x2014;a carriage () sliding between a first start position, near said first pair of pinch rolls (), and a second end position, said sliding carriage () comprising a gripping member to grasp said rolled strip () coming from said first pair of pinch rolls (), said carriage allowing the strip to be unwound without contact with a surface (S) to be inspected.

An adjustment system for adjusting the position of at least one sliding block of a movable crosspiece of a press with respect to the respective column of the press on which the sliding block may slide, a first wedge is integral with the movable crosspiece, a second wedge is sliding on the first wedge, a pin defining an axis and having a first eccentric end accommodated in a cavity provided in the second wedge, a first actuating member adapted to rotate the pin causing the translation of the second wedge along a direction transversal to the axis, a second actuating member adapted to translate the pin from a first locked position to a second unlocked position in which the pin can rotate about the axis.

A handling machine for rails, arranged in line and immediately downstream of a rolling plant, which allows both to easily handle the rail for transferring it from the roller table to the thermal treatment zone, and to ensure an optimal gripping of the rail along its longitudinal extension, thus effectively contrasting its bending and variations while allowing a longitudinal movement of the rail caused by thermal shrinkage, thus avoiding damages both to the external surface of the rail and to the handlers. A rail handling process is also described, which optimizes moving, positioning along a roller table and maintaining the rail substantially rectilinear during the thermal treatment to which it is subjected.

A cooling tank for the thermal treatment of the head of rails, whose frame allows obtaining a stable and on average uniform flow of the cooling fluid which touches the head of the immersed rail along the entire tank, with the continuous exchange of the fluid so as to optimize the cooling speed of the head of the rail.
