A system for enabling a user to wirelessly download desired information in the form of a offline website without having to maintain a live Internet connection. Information is delivered from an active or passive source to a device via short-range wireless communication. This information is automatically interpreted by the device to form an offline version of a full-scale Internet website. The user may view the offline version of the website, and if additional information is desired, download or upload additional information at a time more convenient to maintain a live Internet connection.

A wireless communication method and device for managing information available via a wireless connection. Service information may be transmitted to a wireless communication device (WCD) via a short-range wireless network. Authentication information is scanned from an object containing machine-readable data via a different short-range communication medium. The authentication information is used to determine whether the downloaded service information should be permanently stored and made available in the user interface of the WCD.

Method and system for tactile confirmation of service bookmarks

The invention provides location identification of machine-readable data on data carriers. The invention is able to provide identification of the location of the machine-readable data without the need to provide a separate visual symbol or logo within the data carrier. As such, the present invention provides location indication without having to occupy additional space within the data carrier. The invention accomplishes these attributes by systematically associating the machine-readable data with a predefined portion of the visually perceptible information that is included within the data carrier.
