A tubing pressure insensitive and hydrostatic pressure insensitive control system includes a housing, a hydraulic piston sealingly disposed in the housing via a first seal set, and a balance piston sealingly disposed in the housing via, at least, a second seal set and a third seal set, the balance piston comprising a through-piston communication port. The housing includes a control pressure chamber associated with the hydraulic piston, and a balance pressure chamber associated with the balance piston. The system also includes a control line from the housing to surface, the control line being in fluid communication with the control pressure chamber, and a balance line from the housing to the surface, the balance line being in fluid communication with the balance pressure chamber.

Wellbore pressure insensitive hydraulic piston configuration

A safety valve includes a housing having a bore, a flow tube, and a valve closure member. The flow tube resides in the bore, is configured to move telescopically within the bore, and is adapted to shift the valve closure member between a closed position and an open position. The safety valve also includes an annular section between an inner surface of the housing and an outer surface of the flow tube, and means for preventing fluid flowing through the bore from entering the annular section.

Interventionless injection safety valve

A downhole tool includes an upper flow tube connected to a lower flow tube, an upper flapper sub-assembly including an upper flapper, and a lower flapper sub-assembly including a lower flapper. The upper and lower flapper sub-assemblies are installed with respect to the upper and lower flow tubes in an 'O' configuration such that the upper and lower flapper sub-assemblies are in a closed position. The upper and lower flapper sub-assemblies are capable of being independently actuated. The upper and lower flow tubes remain stationary when the upper flapper sub-assembly or the lower flapper sub-assembly is actuated from the closed position to an open position.
