An arrangement for light sheet microscopy contains an illumination objective for illuminating a sample located on a slide in a medium with a light sheet, a detection objective, a separation layer system, a first adaptive optical detection correction element, and a further adaptive optical detection correction element and/or a first adaptive optical illumination correction element, and optionally, a further adaptive optical illumination correction element. The arrangement contains an adjustment device for the controlled movement of the first detection correction element and of the further detection correction element and/or of the first illumination correction element and of the further illumination correction element; and a control unit, to generate control commands and to actuate the adjustment devices by means of the control commands such that aberrations are reduced. Corresponding objectives and a corresponding method for reducing aberrations can be used.

Arrangement for light sheet microscopy, immersion objective, and method for reducing aberrations

A projection system can include a first modulator including a plurality of pixels in a first modulator surface, a second modulator including a plurality of pixels in a second modulator surface, and an intermediate imaging optical unit, which images the first modulator surface onto the second modulator surface, wherein the intermediate imaging optical unit includes a first lens having a convex side and wherein the convex side of the first lens is a free-form surface, which is not spherical and not rotationally symmetric and does not exhibit any mirror symmetry.

A camera lens, e.g., for a full-frame camera, may have a first compound lens leading on the object side, a second compound lens following the first compound lens, a third compound lens that terminates on the sensor side and follows the second compound lens, and an aperture stop arranged between the first compound lens and the second compound lens. An objective lens for a still or film camera includes a first and second lens-element arrangement, and a wavefront manipulator. The first and second lens-element arrangement are spaced mutually apart along an optical axis of the lens such that an interstice is present therebetween. The wavefront manipulator is in the interstice and includes two optical components displaceable counter to one another, perpendicular to the optical axis, and which each include a free-form surface. The wavefront manipulator has a zero position, wherein the optical components do not cause any image aberrations in the imaging properties of the objective lens, and effective positions, wherein the optical components are displaced counter to one another, out of the zero position perpendicular to the optical axis, and wherein the optical components cause a spherical aberration in the imaging properties of the objective lens.

An arrangement for lightsheet microscopy. In the arrangement, a detection objective includes a first adaptive optical detection correction element arranged in the beam path or which can be introduced into the latter. Alternatively, or in addition, an illumination objective includes a first adaptive optical illumination correction element arranged in the beam path or which can be introduced into the latter. With the two correction elements, aberrations which occur because of the inclined passage through boundary surfaces of the separating layer system of light to be detected or of light for illuminating the sample can be reduced for a predetermined range of detection angles (&#x3b4;) or of illumination angles (&#x3b2;) and/or for a predetermined range of the thickness of the at least one layer of the separating layer system.

Arrangement for light sheet microscopy

An arrangement for light sheet microscopy including illumination optics with an illumination objective for illuminating a sample, located in a medium on a sample carrier aligned with respect to a plane reference surface, with a light sheet. The arrangement further includes detection optics with a detection objective. The arrangement also includes a separating layer system with at least one layer separating the medium from the illumination and detection objectives. The separating layer system is aligned with a base surface parallel to the reference surface and contacts the medium by this base surface. At least one detection corrective lens, for reducing those aberrations occurring as a result of light to be detected passing obliquely through interfaces of the separating layer system, is configured as free-form lens and is arranged between the detection objective and the separating layer system. Alternatively, it also forms the front lens of the detection objective.

An imaging system with an imaging lens system for imaging an object into an image plane is disclosed. The imaging lens system contains an optical component for a higher depth of field, of which the refractive power is alterable and the optical effect remains rotation-symmetrical.

Imaging system and imaging method

The invention relates to a lens (), comprising a first lens unit (), at least one second lens unit (), and at least one pupil () having a pupil radius. The first lens unit () and the second lens unit () are arranged at a distance from each other along an optical axis (OA) of the objective, such that an intermediate space is present between the first lens unit () and the second lens unit (). The microlithography projection optical system includes a plurality of elements arranged so that during operation the plurality of elements image radiation at a wavelength &#x3bb; from an object plane to an image plane. At least one of the elements is a reflective element that has a rotationally-asymmetric surface positioned in a path of the radiation. The rotationally-asymmetric surface deviates from a rotationally-symmetric reference surface by a distance of about &#x3bb; or more at one or more locations of the rotationally-asymmetric surface.

The device has a sensor () with pixels () subdivided into two mutually different pixel groups. An imaging optical unit has a switchable changeover device () that images the partial images of the three-dimensional image time-sequentially onto the sensor (). A control unit is connected to the sensor () and the changeover device () to control the reading of the sensor () and the switching states of the changeover device () so that the changeover device (), during the imaging of the partial images onto the sensor () assumes at least one switching state in which excerpts of different partial images are fed to the different pixel groups of the sensor ().

Method and device for the time-sequential recording of three-dimensional images

A projection device includes a first and a second tilting mirror matrix, each including a plurality of tilting mirrors. A cover glass covers the tilting mirrors. An imaging lens system includes a relay lens system which images the tilting mirrors of the first tilting mirror matrix onto the tilting mirrors of the second tilting mirror matrix. Thus light reflected by the tilting mirrors of the first tilting mirror matrix onto tilting mirrors of the second tilting mirror matrix, and a projection lens system, which projects light reflected by tilting mirrors of the second tilting mirror matrix, in order to produce an image, is provided. The imaging lens system further includes a correction element which corrects at least one image error caused by the light obliquely passing through the cover glasses.

Projection device

An imaging optical system has a plurality of mirrors, which image an object field in an object plane into an image field in an image plane. A reflection face of at least one of the mirrors is configured as a free form face which cannot be described by a rotationally symmetrical function. The object field has an aspect ratio greater than 1. A ratio of a minimal and a maximal transverse dimension of the object field can be less than 0.9.

Imaging optical system and illumination optical system

Imaging optics includes a first mirror in the imaging beam path after the object field, a last mirror in the imaging beam path before the image field, and a fourth to last mirror in the imaging beam path before the image field. In an unfolded imaging beam path between the object plane and the image plane, an impingement point of the chief ray on a used region of each of the plurality of mirrors has a mirror spacing from the image plane. The mirror spacing of the first mirror is greater than the mirror spacing of the last mirror. The mirror spacing of the fourth to last mirror is greater than the mirror spacing of the first mirror. Chief rays that emanate from points of the object field that are spaced apart from another have a mutually diverging beam course, giving a negative back focus of the entrance pupil.
