A method for positioning a vehicle includes deriving an estimated position of the vehicle by way of a satellite signal received from the vehicle, receiving a correction signal from a second vehicle, and correcting the estimated position by way of the correction signal.

Method for positioning a vehicle

A method for localizing a vehicle using vehicle-to-X communications is disclosed which provides improved position data. Signals from at least one object arranged outside a vehicle are received using a receiving unit arranged in the vehicle. A signal strength of the received signals is respectively measured and first position data of the vehicle is obtained by utilizing a determined position of using object. Second position data is determined based on the first position data. The signal strength or a change in the received signal strength is incorporated into the determination of the second position data.

Method and system for localizing a vehicle and vehicle with a device for carrying out vehicle-to-X communications

A driver assistance system is disclosed which automatically control the high and low beam of a headlamp on a vehicle. The system includes a camera and an image evaluation unit configured to search images acquired by the camera for initial bright zones that correspond with an activated vehicle headlamp, and to switch the headlamp from a high beam to a low beam upon detecting both a first bright zone and a second bright zone that is larger and less bright than the image of the activated vehicle headlamp.

Driver assistance system and operating procedure for the latter

A driving assistance apparatus for a motor vehicle for assistance with driving along narrow roadways is provided. The apparatus includes a data acquisition unit for acquiring route data while driving on a route obtained from wheel and steering angle sensors, a trajectory storage unit for recording the route data, and a triggering unit for triggering the vehicle based on the route data. The apparatus is coupled to a satellite navigation receiver for determining boundary value position data at the time of commencement and/or end of the route. A storage unit stores the boundary value position data for the route data. An approach checking unit checks whether the vehicle is approaching the commencement or end of the route based on the boundary value position data and generates a position approach signal if the motor vehicle is approaching the commencement or end of the route.

Driving assistance apparatus for assistance with driving along narrow roadways

An assistance system is provided for a motor vehicle that includes, but is not limited to an activation device, which switches the assistance system over into a beginner mode, a capturing device, which determines a curve radius located ahead of a road travelled by the motor vehicle, and a processing device, which from the curve radius located ahead and a speed of the motor vehicle in the beginner mode generates a signal in the case the speed of the motor vehicle when travelling through the curve radius located ahead exceeds a predetermined maximum lateral acceleration. A method is also provided for controlling a motor vehicle.
