A system for therapy of the eye by treating tissue with therapeutic radiation using nonlinear interaction. A laser device is provided, which delivers the therapeutic radiation. The therapeutic radiation is focussed by a focussing device in an image field, and xy scanners and z scanners shift the focus laterally and longitudinally within a treatment volume. The therapeutic radiation is either a second short pulse radiation or a first short pulse radiation, each of which have a spectral centroid within a wavelength range defined by the short pulse properties. The system is particularly corrected with regard to longitudinal chromatic aberrations and lateral chromatic aberrations such that the spectral characteristic curves of the two aberrations each have a local extreme within the wavelength ranges, and a certain tolerance within the wavelength ranges is not exceeded, therefore the characteristic curves are very shallow.

System for therapy of the eye by treating tissue using non-linear interaction

A tube system for a microscope includes two lenses and a glass element. The tube system can have a compact build and chromatic aberrations that lie within a specified range.

Tube system

A device for machining an object by laser radiation, by photodisruption. The device includes an observation device for imaging the object and a laser scanning device by which the laser radiation is passed over a predetermined sector of the object for scanning the sector. The device includes the observation device with a first lens for imaging the object; the laser scanning device with a second lens, through which the laser radiation is guided, in which both lenses with regard to the dimension of the regions to be produced in the images and/or with regard to their focal intercept are different from each other. The device alternately images the respective region of the object in a first operating mode by the first lens and in a second operating mode by the second lens. It is thus possible to use in both operating modes a lens adapted to the intended imaging purpose.

Device for machining an object by application of laser radiation

A scanning device for focusing a beam of rays in defined regions of a defined volume, comprising an input optics wherein the beam of rays penetrates first, having at least one first optical element; a focusing optics for focusing the beam of rays exiting from the input optics; and a deflecting device arranged between the first optical element and the focusing optics, for deflecting the beam of rays after it has passed through the first optical element, based on a position of the focus to be adjusted in lateral direction. In order to adjust the position of the focus of the beam of rays in the direction of the beam of rays, and optical element of the input optics can be displaced relative to the deflecting device.

Surgical laser system and method of focusing a luminous beam into a selected range of a volume of an eye to be treated

An ophthalmological laser therapy device including a laser system, an x-y scanner, collecting optics and a z-scanner. The invention also relates to a method for processing a tissue of an eye by a therapeutic laser beam of an ophthalmological laser therapy device. The invention provides an ophthalmological laser therapy device and a corresponding method which permit, with minimal engineering complexity, a very quick positioning of the laser spot in a large volume region, in particular in a large x-y region perpendicular to the optical axis. The problem is also solved by a method for processing a tissue of the eye or a material located in an eye using an ophthalmological laser therapy device, wherein each sub-section of the tissue of the eye is processed using a corresponding positioning or the device for the adjustable redirecting of the laser beam in an image field of the collection optics.

Ophthalmological laser therapy device

A polarization beam splitter selectively decouples detection light onto a detector such that it has a polarization direction that differs from the emitted illumination light. This enables the detection of the light scattered back in the eye lens at a high level of accuracy, since stray light from reflections at optical components of the light path is suppressed. In the generating of photo disruptions or other incisions, the ray exposure of the retina may be reduced in that the incisions being furthest away from the laser are induced first such that laminar gas inclusions with an existence duration time of at least 5 seconds result. In this manner the laser radiation propagated in the direction of the retina in further incisions are scattered and partially reflected such that the influence impinging upon the retina is reduced.

Scanning device

An ophthalmic instrument for the application of laser radiation in a patient's eye, particularly for the examination and/or surgical laser treatment of the cornea and the lens of the eye, includes a femtosecond laser, an objective and optical assemblies. The optical assemblies are arranged in front of the objective, and selectively vary the focus position in the coordinate direction X, Y and Z either within the region of the cornea or within the region of the lens of the eye. The objective or at least one lens group is movable relative to the eye. The variation of the position of the lens group objective shifts the focus position from the cornea to the lens of the eye and vice versa.

Ophthalmological device

For image recording purposes, an object is illuminated at a plurality of illumination angles. A detector captures a plurality of images (-) of the object for the plurality of illumination angles. An electronic evaluating device applies an image correction to the plurality of images (-), said image correction comprising a rectification (T, T, T), wherein the rectification (T, T, T) depends on the illumination angle used when recording the respective image (-). The corrected images (-) may be combined.
