A method of providing taxi time information for an airport includes receiving, at a computing system from a device, a request for taxi time information associated with an airport. The method includes determining, at the computing system based on aircraft location information data from a set of aircraft, taxi time information for the airport for a time window. The set of aircraft include aircraft that taxied at the airport within the time window. The time window is less than or equal to one day. The method also includes sending the taxi time information associated with the airport from the computing system to the device.

Apparatuses, methods, systems, and program products are disclosed for dynamic selection of an aeronautical data provider. An apparatus includes a processor and a memory that stores code executable by the processor to receive streams of aeronautical data from a plurality of aeronautical data providers streaming aeronautical data from different geographic locations, determine a quality of each of the received streams of aeronautical data by checking the aeronautical data against data provided by at least one secondary data source that has a known quality, select an aeronautical data provider of the plurality of aeronautical data providers that provides a stream of aeronautical data that is closest to the data provided by the at least one secondary data source, and expose aeronautical data from the stream of aeronautical data of the selected aeronautical data provider to an end user according to one or more parameters.

Dynamic selection of an aeronautical data provider

A method is provided for supporting taxi operation of an aircraft. The method includes accessing information that describes a taxi operation of the aircraft at an airport, for a flight of the aircraft. The method includes determining a recommendation for reduced-engine taxi operation of the aircraft based on the information. The recommendation divides the reduced-engine taxi operation into steps including reduced-engine and all-engines steps. A route for the taxi operation is plotted on a diagram of the airport, the route is annotated with an indication of the recommendation for the taxi operation, and a graphical user interface (GUI) is generated that includes the diagram with the route and the indication of the recommendation. The indication of the recommendation includes indications of the steps into which the reduced-engine taxi operation is divided, and the route is annotated to indicate segments of the route over which the steps are performed.

Supporting an aircraft in a reduced-engine taxi operation

An apparatus is provided. The apparatus determines a plurality of runway exits reachable by the aircraft, and applied braking force of the aircraft to land at respective ones of the plurality of runway exits and predicts taxi-in times of the aircraft to land at respective ones of the plurality of runway exits. The apparatus also predicts maintenance costs of the aircraft to land at respective ones of the plurality of runway exits based on the applied braking force and predicts overall costs of the aircraft to land at respective ones of the plurality of runway exits based on the taxi-in times and the maintenance costs. The apparatus further determines the runway exit among the plurality of runway exits, the runway exit having a minimal overall cost among the overall costs and presents a recommendation of the runway exit for landing the aircraft to a user.

Determining a runway exit for landing an aircraft

A method includes receiving visual flight rules (VFR) data and determining a suggested path of approach for an aircraft based on the VFR data. The suggested path of approach may correspond to a flight path of the aircraft to a runway of an airport. The method includes highlighting a representation of the suggested path of approach at a display device.

Visual flight rules approach to airports

The present disclosure is generally directed to processing air traffic controller ('ATC') communication directed to aircraft other than the current aircraft. ATC communication is processed using speech recognition and the call sign and augmented flight information for other aircraft is identified. The corresponding aircraft icon on the display representing the aircraft on the display may be augmented by emphasizing the icon and displaying augmented flight information, along with an insignia. This information is displayed for a configurable time duration, after which the display reverts to displaying a conventional aircraft icon and associated flight information on the display. The pilot can subsequently select the aircraft icon and may be presented with a log of past ATC communications for the aircraft.
