The invention relates to a circuit for an electrical energy storage system () with two energy storage units (R, R) respectively comprising a first and a second pole connection (P, P, P, P), said circuit comprising: at least one first and one second input (E, E), at least one first and one second output (A, A), a first switching element (S) between the first pole connection (P) of the first energy storage unit (R) and the first output (A), and a second switching element (S) between the second pole connection (P) of the second energy storage unit (R) and the second output (A), a third switching element (S) being arranged between the second pole connection (P) of the first energy storage unit (R) and the first pole connection (P) of the second energy storage unit (R), a fourth switching element (S) being arranged between the second pole connection (P) of the first energy storage unit (R) and the second pole connection (P) of the second energy storage unit (R), and a fifth switching element (S) being arranged between the first pole connection (P) of the first energy storage unit (R) and the first pole connection (P) of the second energy storage unit (R), the energy storage units (R, R) being connected in parallel or in series according to the switch position of the third, fourth and fifth switching elements (S, S, S).

Circuit and charging method for an electrical energy storage system

A method for detecting a short circuit within an energy store. The method includeds registering a current which flows through the energy store, registering a first voltage which is made available by the energy store at a first time, registering a second voltage which is made available by the energy store at a second time following the first time, determining whether the energy store is in a state of charge, a discharge state or in an open-circuit state, executing a first detection step when the energy store is in an open-circuit state, a second detection step when the energy store is in a state of charge, and a third detection step when the energy store is in a discharged state, and determining whether a short circuit is present based on the first and second voltage.

A method for monitoring a state of at least one predetermined battery cell of a battery having a number of series-connected or series-connectable battery cells. In one example, the method includes placing the battery, during a first phase, into a first state in which the battery cells in each case have a predefined charging state, discharging the battery, which is in the first state, during a second phase following the first phase, charging the battery during a third phase, following the second phase, up to a point in time at which at least one battery cell of the battery has the predefined charging state, detecting the voltage provided by the at least one predetermined battery cell at least temporarily, and determining information for detecting the state of the at least one predetermined battery cell by evaluating the detected voltage.

Method and device for monitoring a state of at least one predetermined battery cell of a battery

The invention relates to an open-loop and/or closed loop control system () for a secondary battery (). Each cell electronics unit () is configured to detect a respective state of the battery cell (), to generate a state parameter assigned to the respectively detected state, to weight, with the respective state parameter, a value of a probability of the battery cell () being switched on and to control the state of the battery cell () as a function of the respective control signal and the value, weighted with the respective state parameter, of the probability of the battery cell () being switched on. A control signal contains at least one information item according to which the values, stored in the cell electronics units (), of the probability of the respective battery cell () being switched on are retained, incrementally increased, incrementally reduced or reset to a predefined output value.

Control of a secondary battery with battery cells which can be connected in series with one another

A battery cell () with two battery cell terminals () which are contactable from inside and/or outside the battery cell (), and an electrochemical part () comprising at least one separator. Upon the achievement of a predefined temperature, the at least one separator is at least partially impermeable to ions which can be generated in the electrochemical part (). The battery cell () has a rapid discharge unit (), which is connectable between the battery cell terminals () and which, in a switched-in and consequently activated state, has a predefined resistance value. The predefined resistance value is selected such that, with the rapid discharge unit () switched-in, the at least one separator achieves the predefined temperature.
