The present invention describes a novel spring mechanism for a razor. In the razor, the spring member may be disposed in a movable member assembly, portions of which may be used for ejection or pivoting. The spring may be fully encompassed within the assembly and be placed within supporting structures therein. The spring is a loop-shaped element having overlapping end portions with free distal ends. Alternately, the spring member is tear drop shaped loop shape with distal ends that are spaced apart. The spring may be disposed within a first and/or second movable member such as an eject button or a pivot member. A retarding structure on the spring provides a retarding force which is based on the interaction of the retarding structure with a protrusion on an assembly portion to keep the spring orientation intact. The spring is desirably comprised of stainless steel and is a flat wire.

A handle. The handle can include a main body and a first substantially flat metal arm having a first proximal portion and a first distal end, the first proximal portion being rigidly coupled to the main body at a first location, and a second arm having a second proximal portion and a second distal end, the second proximal portion being rigidly coupled to the main body at a second location. The first and second distal ends can be in spaced relationship and have pivotally coupled therebetween a pivoting head.

A handle. The handle can include a main body and a pivoting head having a substantially trapezoidal prism shape and pivotally coupled with the main body about a pivot axis. The pivoting head can have a first end including a first limit member and a second end including a second limit member, and each of the first and second limit members can include first and second surfaces, the first surface limiting movement of the pivoting head to a first position and the second surface limiting movement of the pivoting head to a second position. A pivot spring can interact with the main body to bias the pivoting head into the first position.

A handle. The handle can include a body and a pivoting head pivotally coupled with the main body at a pivot axis. The pivoting head can include at least two mating parts defining an interior channel. A pivot spring can include a first coil spring and a second coil spring and a main bar portion that is at least partially disposed in the interior channel and interacts with the pivoting head to bias the pivoting head into a rest position. The main bar portion also can couple the first and second coil springs together in a spaced.

A handle. The handle can include a main body and a pivoting head pivotally coupled with the main body about a pivot axis. The pivoting head can have a substantially trapezoidal prism shape and can include a base member and a cover member that overlies the base member in a mating relationship. The cover member can have a face defining at least one exterior opening and the pivoting head can have an interior compartment comprising an electrical component.

A handle. The handle can have a main body and a pivoting head pivotally coupled with the main body about a pivot axis. The pivoting head can have a substantially trapezoidal prism shape and include a base member and a cover member that overlies the base member in a mating relationship. The cover member can include a face defining at least one exterior opening and the pivoting head can have an interior compartment in fluid communication with the main body and the exterior opening.

A razor blade having an improved lubricious material deposited thereon and a method of making a razor blade for a razor cartridge having such a material disposed thereon are described herein. A novel printing process and printing material are provided where at least one printing material is deposited on one or more razor blades via a printing process which includes one or more print heads for printing the at least one printing material and forming at least one printed object on a tip or one or more sides of the razor blade. The printing material may comprise about of about 0.25% solid to about 50% solids by weight of composition of telomer and further desirably comprises glycerol and/or an antifoam material. Optimizing coverage of the printing material may be achieved by changing materials, print heads, the firing frequency of the print head or angling or rotating the print heads.

Printed lubricious material disposed on razor blades

A razor cartridge including a guard at a front portion of the cartridge, a cap at a back portion of the cartridge, at least one blade positioned between the guard and the cap, a top surface and an opposing bottom surface, and a lubricating member positioned in the cartridge at the top surface. The lubricating member has a visible surface with a visible surface area. The visible surface includes a printed lubrication control structure on the visible surface of the lubricating member. The printed lubrication control structure is formed from a UV curable ink and covers a portion of the visible surface area creating a covered portion and an open portion.
