An electromechanical brake device has a brake caliper and a pressure piston mounted in the brake caliper such that it can move in a clamping direction, wherein the brake device has an electromechanical clamping device, wherein the clamping device is supported, on one side, on the pressure piston and is designed to apply to the pressure piston a force acting in the clamping direction. It is provided that the brake device has at least one hydraulically sealed, fluid-filled cavity, wherein the clamping device is supported, on the other side, indirectly on the brake caliper via the fluid-filled cavity, and wherein a pressure sensor is hydraulically connected to the fluid-filled cavity and is designed to calculate the fluid pressure inside the fluid-filled cavity.

Electromechanical brake device

A brake system for a motor vehicle has electromechanical wheel brakes, a brake operating unit and a central brake control unit. The wheel brakes each have a local brake control unit. The central brake control unit is connected to the brake operating unit and the local brake control units via a first data connection. The brake operating unit is connected to the local brake control unit of at least one wheel brake via a second data connection. In a normal operating mode the central brake control unit determines at least one brake demand from first operating information, received via the first data connection and transmits control signals corresponding to the brake demand to the local brake control units. In a fallback operating mode the local brake control units actuate the respective wheel brakes basis on second operating information, received via the second data connection.

Brake system for a motor vehicle

A braking system including four hydraulically actuatable wheel brakes. A normally closed outlet valve is assigned to each wheel brake and a normally open inlet valve is assigned to each wheel brake. Two pressure supply devices are provided for active pressure build-up in the wheel brakes. A first and a second brake circuit are hydraulically configured with two wheel brakes respectively, wherein in each brake circuit a respective pressure supply device is hydraulically connected to two wheel brakes. A first and a second control and regulating unit are provided, wherein the first control and regulating unit electrically controls the pressure supply device of the first brake circuit, and wherein the second control and regulating unit hydraulically controls the pressure supply device of the second brake circuit, and the two control and regulating units are connected together via a data interface.

A method for operating a motor vehicle brake system having hydraulic wheel brakes; an atmospheric pressure pressure medium reservoir; a pressure modulation unit setting wheel-specific brake pressures, an electrohydraulic pressure provision device connected to the pressure modulation unit and the pressure medium reservoir which outputs brake system pressure to the pressure modulation unit and draws in pressure medium from the reservoir; a first and second pressure activation valve connecting the pressure provision device to the pressure modulation device. A piston of the piston-cylinder arrangement separates two pressure spaces from one another. A pressure build-up occurs in the first pressure space during a backward movement of the piston and in the second pressure space during a forward movement of the piston. During a brake pressure build-up by a forward stroke of the piston, the activation valve is opened and the first pressure space is hydraulically separated from the pressure medium reservoir.

A braking system for a motor vehicle comprises a first and second electrically controllable pressure source for providing a brake pressure for actuating the wheel brakes. An electrically controllable pressure modulation device sets brake pressures that are individual to each of the wheel brakes, said device having electrically actuatable inlet valves and outlet valves for each wheel brake. The second pressure source comprises a motor-pump unit and at least one low-pressure accumulator. The low-pressure accumulator is connected to an output connection of at least one outlet valve. A first and a second energy supply unit for the braking system are independent from one another. The first energy supply unit supplies the first pressure source with energy. The second energy supply unit supplies the second pressure source with energy. The pressure modulation device is supplied with energy by the first energy supply unit and by the second energy supply unit.

A method for operating a motor vehicle brake installation. An electrically controllable pressure modulation device having a pump-valve arrangement is hydraulically arranged between the primary brake system and the front axle brakes. The pump-valve arrangement includes, for each front brake, a first valve, arranged between the inlet valve of the primary brake system and the brake, and an electrically activatable pump, with a suction and pressures ports. The pressure port is connected to the brake. In the presence of a predetermined condition of the primary brake system and of an actuation of the master brake cylinder by the driver, a build-up of brake pressure at the front axle brakes is performed by the pump-valve arrangement. The pressure set by the pump-valve arrangement is higher than the brake pressure in the master brake cylinder, whereas the brake pressure of the master brake cylinder prevails at the brakes of the rear axle.

A method for operating a brake installation of a vehicle. A first electrically controllable pressure provision device provides brake pressure for actuating hydraulically actuatable brakes. A first electronic open-loop and closed-loop control unit, and a first pressure detection device, measures brake pressure provided by a primary brake system. A secondary brake system between the primary system and a part of the wheel brakes has a second electrically controllable pressure provision device provides brake pressure for actuating at least the part of the brakes. A second electronic open-loop and closed-loop control unit, and at least one second pressure detection device, the signals of which are processed in the second electronic open-loop and closed-loop control unit.
