The invention pertains to a method of making fluoropolymer dispersions using certain polyfunctional perfluoropolyether derivatives including a plurality of ionisable groups selected from the group consisting of —SO.sub.3X.sub.a, —PO.sub.3X.sub.a and —COOX.sub.a, whereas X.sub.a is H, an ammonium group or a monovalent metal, and whereas said groups are comprised as pendant groups in the perfluoropolyether chain, and to fluoropolymer dispersions therefrom.

Fluoroelastomer composition

The invention pertains to a perfluoroelastomer composition comprising: at least one perfluoroelastomer comprising iodine and/or bromine atoms [perfluoroelastomer (A)]; from 0.5 to 5 weight parts, per 100 parts by weight of said perfluoroelastomer (A), of at least one bis-olefin [bis-olefin (OF)] having general formula (1) wherein R, R, R, R, Rand R, equal or different from each other, are H, a halogen, or a C-Coptionally halogenated group, possibly comprising one or more oxygen group; Z is a linear or branched C-Coptionally halogenated alkylene or cycloalkylene radical, optionally containing oxygen atoms, or a (per)fluoropolyoxyalkylene radical; from 0.1 to 3 weight parts, per 100 parts by weight of said perfluoroelastomer (A), of at least one organic peroxide; from 0.1 to 3 weight parts, per 100 parts by weight of said perfluoroelastomer (A), of at least one organic base [base (B)] selected from the group consisting of: (i) non-aromatic primary amines or amides complying with general formula (B1m) or (Bid): R&#x2014;[C(0)]&#x2014;NH(B1m) HN&#x2014;[C(O)&#x2014;R&#x2014;[C(O)&#x2014;NH(Bid) wherein: each of t, t' and t&#x2033;, equal to or different from each other and at each occurrence is zero or 1; Rbm is a monovalent hydrocarbon non-aromatic group having 12 to 30 carbon atoms; Rdm is a divalent hydrocarbon non-aromatic group having 6 to 30 carbon atoms; and (ii) cycloaliphatic secondary or tertiary amines complying with general formula (II) (B2m) or (B2d) wherein: Cy represents a divalent aliphatic group comprising at least 4 carbon atoms, optionally comprising one or more than one ethylenically unsaturated double bond, and optionally comprising one or more catenary nitrogen atoms, forming a cycle with the nitrogen atom which is connected thereto; Cy&#x2032; represent a trivalent aliphatic group comprising at least 5 carbon atoms, optionally comprising one or more than one ethylenically unsaturated double bond, and optionally comprising one or more catenary nitrogen atoms, forming a cycle with the nitrogen atom which is connected thereto. 

Perfluoroelastomer composition

The invention pertains to a method of making fluoropolymer dispersions using certain polyfunctional perfluoropolyether derivatives including a plurality of ionisable groups selected from the group consisting of &#x2014;SOX, &#x2014;POXand &#x2014;COOX, whereas Xis H, an ammonium group or a monovalent metal, and whereas said groups are comprised as pendant groups in the perfluoropolyether chain, and to fluoropolymer dispersions therefrom.

The invention pertains to certain perfluorinated thermoplastic elastomers suitable for being processed through additive manufacturing techniques, thanks to their surprising ability to possess better processability (notably more significant shear thinning at processability temperature) than corresponding perfluorinated thermoplasts, which possess similar product profile and hence performances, offering hence advantages in throughput and part design accurate control, containment of degradation, reduction of fumes, and yet delivering parts with outstanding chemical resistance.

Perfluorinated thermoplastic elastomer

The invention pertains to a method of making cured parts from a composition comprising certain fluoroelastomers and certain bromine-containing compounds under conditions suitable for delivering cured parts possessing outstanding mechanical and sealing properties and incorporating suitable amounts of bromine-containing compounds, so that these cured parts, when submitted to wear/damage would release Br-containing compounds, which can easily detected using appropriate analytical techniques, so as to monitor and anticipate critical failures thereof.

The invention pertains to a (per)fluoroelastomer composition comprising: &#x2014;a (per)fluoroelastomer [fluoroelastomer (A)]; and &#x2014;at least one (per)fluoropolyether additive [polymer (E)] comprising a (per)fluoropolyether chain comprising recurring units having at least one catenary ether bond and at least one fluorocarbon moiety, and comprising at least one chain end comprising at least one per(halo)fluorinated aromatic group [group (Ar)], said polymer (E) being comprised in the composition in an amount of 0.5 to 30 phr, with respect to fluoroelastomer (A).
