A system includes a memory system and a processor of a first processing system including a processor core, a direct memory access controller, and a communication interface. The processor core is configured to execute a plurality of instructions to configure the direct memory access controller to trigger a transmitter interrupt upon transmitting a first synchronization message through the communication interface to a second processing system, configure the direct memory access controller to trigger a receiver interrupt upon receiving a second synchronization message from the second processing system, determine a time difference between triggering of the transmitter interrupt and the receiver interrupt, and adjust a synchronization skew of a real-time scheduler based on the time difference to tune real-time synchronization between the first processing system and the second processing system.

Real-time processing system synchronization in a control system

A vertical bounce detection system of an elevator system includes at least one sensor operable to detect vertical movement of an elevator car in a hoistway. The vertical bounce detection system also includes a processing system communicatively coupled to the at least one sensor and a memory system having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by the processing system, cause the vertical bounce detection system to determine a bounce energy level of the elevator car based on sensor data from the at least one sensor. The instructions further cause the vertical bounce detection system to compare the bounce energy level to a bounce condition threshold. A speed reduction of the elevator car is commanded to continue movement of the elevator car at a reduced speed based on determining that the bounce energy level exceeds the bounce condition threshold.

Vertical bounce detection and mitigation

An electronic safety actuation device for braking an elevator car includes a safety brake movable between a non-braking position and a braking position, a first electronic safety actuator operably coupled to the safety brake via a first link member, and a second electronic safety actuator operably coupled to the safety brake via a second link member. Operation of the first electronic safety actuator applies a force to the first link member to move the safety brake from the non-braking position to the braking position. Operation of the second electronic safety actuator applies a force to the second link member to move the safety brake from the non-braking position to the braking position.

Electronic safety actuator for lifting a safety wedge of an elevator

An elevator system is provided and includes at least one guide rail, safeties to respectively selectively impede or permit movement of an elevator car along a corresponding guide rail and first and second electronic safety actuators (ESAs) respectively coupled to a corresponding safety. The first ESA includes a first braking surface located a first distance from the corresponding guide rail, the second ESA includes a second braking surface located a second distance from the corresponding guide rail and the first and second braking surfaces are deployable across the first and second distances, respectively, to contact the corresponding guide rails. The elevator system further includes a sensing system to determine the first and second distances and a control system to deploy the first and second braking surfaces toward the corresponding guide rails in response to an over-speed or an over-acceleration condition with synchronization based on the first and second distances.

An electronic speed detection system is provided. The electronic speed detection system includes an accelerometer coupled to a moving object and a hybrid altimeter, which includes a first pressure sensor coupled to the moving object and a second pressure sensor. The electronic speed detection system also includes a controller comprising a memory and a processor. The memory storing computer program instructions executable by the processor to cause the electronic speed detection system to determine a normalized position based on first inputs received from the hybrid altimeter, or determine a corrected velocity position based on a second input received from the accelerometer and the normalized position.

Hybrid altimeter for measuring vertical velocity

Multiple positions within a mechanical system are measured with a plurality of sensors including at least one 4-wire and at least one 5-wire sensor. The 5-wire sensor has two output voltage signals sent to a signal conversion processor, and the 4-wire sensor also sends a signal. A sum is created of the two voltage signals from the 5-wire sensor. An excitation voltage supply supplies a common excitation voltage to both sensors. Feedback of the excitation voltage is measured by the signal conversion processor. The excitation voltage feedback is utilized to ratio-metrically correct a position feedback signal from the 4-wire sensor at the signal conversion processor. The signal conversion processor is able to synthesize a signal indicative of the excitation voltage from the two voltage signals sent from the 5-wire sensor in the event the excitation voltage feedback is not received at the signal conversion processor.

Control voltage signal synthesis system and method

A multi-processor system includes a first processor that includes a first time base counter that outputs a first time base count, a second processor that includes a second time base counter that outputs a second time base count, and a communication bus. The first and second processors exchange the first and second time base counts on the communication bus. The first and second processors determine a skew based upon a difference between the first and second time base counts, and the first and second processors synchronize with each other based upon the skew.
