An arc quenching system is presented. The arc quenching system includes a mounting structure, a plurality of movable arc chute plates mounted on the mounting structure, and a motion delivery unit mechanically coupled to the mounting structure. The motion delivery unit is configured to impart at least one of a rotation motion and a vibration motion to one or more movable arc chute plates of the plurality of movable arc chute plates.

System and method for quenching an arc

A switching assembly having an interlock device for a selector switch is provided. The interlock device includes a flapper member rotatably coupled to a base member. The flapper member has an aperture disposed proximate to an aperture of a panel such that the selector switch extends through the apertures. The flapper member further includes an indented region and has a first operational position proximate to the panel and a second operational position disposed outwardly from the panel. When an arm portion of the selector switch is disposed within the indented region of the flapper member at the second rotational position and the flapper member is rotated to the second operational position, then the arm portion cannot be rotated outside of the indented region.

A circuit protection device includes a circuit breaker having a first contact arm and a second contact arm, wherein the second contact arm is configured to move with respect to the first contact arm between a first position and a second position. Linear movement of the first ends of the first and second pivot arms results in linear movement of the first shutter and the second shutter.

A draw-out mechanism for a molded case circuit breaker includes a fixed side plate and a plurality of auxiliary contacts mounted to the fixed side plate. The draw-out mechanism also includes a movable member moveably mounted to the fixed side plate. The movable member includes a cam member that acts upon the plurality of auxiliary contacts. The draw-out unit further includes a front panel member having a visual indicator mechanism and a locking mechanism provided with a padlock locking arm, a door lock and a second lever. In addition, the draw-out unit includes a connector plate that operatively couples the movable member and the front panel member. The connector plate includes a plurality of adjustment portions that establish a desired extension of the connector plate relative to the movable member to accommodate a predetermined spacing between the movable member and the front panel member.
