Systems and methods for improving efficiency in performing service actions for one or more storage systems are described. In one embodiment, the systems and methods include detecting a service event on at least one of one or more storage systems based at least in part on monitoring events on the one or more storage systems, creating a service action based at least in part on detecting the service event, adding the service action to a list of pending service actions associated with the one or more storage systems, and assigning one or more service actions from the list of pending service actions to a service window. In some cases, each service event in the list of pending service events represents an adverse condition awaiting repair in relation to at least one of the one or more storage systems.

Datacenter service flow optimization

A policy distribution server provides, on a subscription basis, policy updates to effect desired behaviors of network intermediary devices. The policy updates may specify caching policies, and may in some instances, include instructions for data collection by the network intermediary devices. Data collected in accordance with such instructions may be used to inform future policy updates distributed to the network intermediary devices.

System and method for distributing heuristics to network intermediary devices

Data useful in analyzing the effectiveness of policies for handling transactions involving client communications is automatically collected at network intermediary devices and delivered to an analysis server as part of feedback communications from the network intermediary devices. A caching device is configured to determine whether an object received or currently stored at the caching device should be (or continue to be) cached at the caching device, even if the object is otherwise cacheable. If so, the object is cached (or retained) at the caching device, otherwise, it is not. The determination as to whether or not the object should be cached or, if already cached, retained at the caching device may be made on the basis of a worthiness determination which evaluates the object on the basis of one or more parameters or attributes of the object, which worthiness may be one part of an overall value determination for the object.

System and method for identifying web objects unworthy of being cached

A split proxy is configured for managing asynchronous MAPI communications between a client and a server by establishing a queuing structure for MAPI messages that make up the communications. The MAPI messages are subsequently exchanged between the client and the server using the queuing structure. Multiple remote procedure calls (RPCs) underlying the MAPI messages may be grouped together in batches for exchange between proxies of the split proxy. Also, when the client logs off from the server, a MAPI keep-alive process allows updates received at the server to be pre-populated to the split proxy for transfer to the client when it reestablishes a connection.
