A hydraulic damper assembly comprises a housing defining a fluid chamber. A piston is slidably disposed in the fluid chamber dividing the fluid chamber into a compression and a rebound chamber. A piston rod couples to the piston for movement between a compression and a rebound stroke. The piston has a compression surface and a rebound surface. The piston defines at least one compression channel, at least one rebound channel, and at least one additional channel. A compression valve covers the at least one compression channel. A rebound valve covers the at least one rebound channel. A proportional bleeding system located between the compression valve and the piston to establish a bleeding flow passage between the at least one rebound chamber and the at least one additional channel for reducing operation harshness of the hydraulic damper assembly. A piston for the hydraulic damper assembly is also disclosed herein.

Hydraulic damper and a piston for the hydraulic damper assembly

A damper assembly comprises a main tube extending along a center axis defining a fluid chamber. A main piston is located in the main tube dividing the fluid chamber into a compression chamber and a rebound chamber. A piston rod extends into the main tube and coupled to the main piston. The piston rod defines an annular chamber extending along the center axis. A slidable partition is located in the annular chamber dividing the annular chamber into a magnetorheological chamber and a compensation chamber. A secondary piston is slidably disposed in the magnetorheological chamber dividing the magnetorheological chamber into a magnetorheological compression chamber and a magnetorheological rebound chamber. A secondary piston rod sealingly and slidably guided through the main piston and couples to the main tube for moving the secondary piston axially in the magnetorheological chamber.

A damper assembly includes a main tube disposed on a center axis and extending between a first and a second end defining a fluid chamber for containing a working fluid. A main piston is slidably disposed in the fluid chamber dividing the fluid chamber into a rebound chamber and a compression chamber. A piston rod is attached to the main piston for moving the main piston between a compression and a rebound stroke. The piston rod includes a rod extender attached to the main piston defining a compartment. A compression stop including an additional piston is slidably disposed in the compartment and movable between a first position in response to the compression stroke and a second position in response to the rebound stroke. The first position is the additional piston being disposed adjacent the main piston. The second position is the additional piston being axially spaced from the main piston.

Hydraulic damper having a high frequency valve assembly

A hydraulic damper includes a piston rod attached to a slidable piston assembly having a hollow housing with first and second valve assemblies disposed therein and each including a valve body and rebound and compression discs for regulating flow of a working fluid through the piston assembly. The first valve assembly is disposed about a sleeve with a valve nut securing them within the housing. The second valve assembly is threadedly secured in the housing, with a pin holding it together. The housing including a coil and an armature, axially slidable through a plunger guide with a spring biasing the armature to a first position with fluid allowed to flow through the sleeve to bypass the first valve. The armature slides to a second position with fluid not bypassing the first valve in response to the coil being energized by an electrical cable which extends through the piston rod.

Dual mode hydraulic damper

A shock absorber having a cylindrically shaped housing including a piston dividing the housing into a compression chamber and a rebound chamber. The piston presents a plurality of apertures for allowing oil to flow between the compression and rebound chambers. A rebound resilient disc is disposed in the compression chamber for obstructing the flow of oil from the rebound chamber to the compression chamber. A two-spring adjustable valving system is disposed in the compression chamber for extorting a biasing force against the rebound resilient disc. A sleeve extends between the first and second springs to interconnect the first and second springs. An actuator is connected to the second spring through a spindle for selectively compressing or expanding the second spring to adjust the biasing force on the rebound resilient disc.
