A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system includes an air handling unit, a supply airflow damper to direct a supply airflow from the air handling unit to a conditioned space, and one or more filters selectively deployable across a flowpath of the air handling unit to remove one or more contaminants from the supply airflow prior to the supply airflow passing through the supply airflow damper. A control system is operably connected to the one or more filters to direct movement of the one or more filters between a deployed position and a stowed position.

Embodiments include a system and method for performing analytics based chiller sequencing. Embodiments include a plurality of chillers, a system controller configured to control the plurality of chillers, and one or more sensors in communication with the controller, the one or more sensors configured to generate operational data based on measured operational parameters of the plurality of chillers. Embodiments include the controller including a processor configured to obtain the operational data, calculate scores for each of the plurality of chillers based on the operational data, and rank the plurality of chillers based on the scores. The processor is further configured to sequence the plurality of chillers based at least in part on the ranking, and control operation of the plurality of chillers based on the sequencing.

An HVAC system includes an air handling unit (AHU), a heat recovery device, and a controller. The controller is configured to determine an average heating or cooling demand of one or more zones served by the AHU, determine if a heating or cooling capacity is available at the heat recovery device, where the capacity available at the heat recovery device is a heating or cooling capacity to heat or cool the air from an outdoor environment with air extracted from the one or more zones served by the AHU, determine a heat recovery command setpoint based on the determined average heating or cooling demand and the determined available heating or cooling capacity, and send a signal indicative of the determined heat recovery command setpoint to at least one of the AHU and the heat recovery device.

A self-adaptive smart setback heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) control system includes an HVAC unit configured to deliver at least one of heated air and cooled air to a target area. A temperature sensor determines a current internal air temperature (IAT) of the target area. An HVAC controller is in signal communication with the HVAC unit and the temperature sensor. The HVAC controller selectively operates in an active mode and a setback mode. The active mode controls the HVAC unit based on a first temperature setpoint value, and the setback mode controls the HVAC unit based on a second temperature setpoint value different from the first temperature setpoint value. The HVAC controller includes an electronic temperature setback unit that is configured change the IAT during the setback mode based on an actively determined upcoming temperature recovery rate.

A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) energy management control system includes an HVAC system configured to deliver at least one of heated air and cooled air to a targeted area; and a computing server including an HVAC energy analytics engine in signal communication with the HVAC system. The HVAC energy analytics engine is configured to actively learn historical data of the HVAC system based on at least one of the heated air and the cooled air produced over a time period. The HVAC energy analytics engine determines a predicted energy consumption of the HVAC system based on the historical data, and the HVAC system operates based on the predicted energy consumption.

A control system for an HVAC system having at least one HVAC component, the control system comprising: a controller having a processor and a memory, the controller in signal communication with the at least one HVAC component, the controller configured to: determine a startup/shut-down setpoint and the time associated with a beginning or an end of a building occupancy period; determine a predicted weather condition for outside air at a location of the HVAC system; predict a set of indoor air conditions over the period from the current time until the building being occupied/unoccupied based on the determined setpoint and time and the predicted weather condition; and start/stop the at least one HVAC component when an actual room air condition approaches the predicted indoor air condition.

A control system for an HVAC system having a plurality of HVAC components operably associated with one or more terminal units is provided. The control system includes a coordination module and a controller having a processor and a memory, the controller operably associated with the coordination module and in signal communication with the plurality of HVAC components. The controller is configured to determine an aggregated thermal demand of the HVAC system, determine, with the coordination module, an operational setpoint for at least one HVAC component of the plurality of HVAC components based on the determined aggregated thermal demand, and send a signal indicative of each determined operational setpoint to each associated HVAC component of the plurality of HVAC components.
