Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A network entity may account for jitter in communications with a user equipment (UE) by adjusting connected mode discontinuous reception (CDRX) configuration parameters for the UE based on estimated downlink traffic arrival times. For a downlink traffic burst, the network entity may estimate a traffic arrival offset based on determining a traffic periodicity, an estimated arrival time associated with one or more packets of a traffic burst, and at least one jitter parameter. The jitter parameter may represent an uncertainty in the arrival time of the traffic burst. The network entity may select a CDRX offset value based on the estimated traffic arrival offset. The network entity may transmit (e.g., to a UE, such as an extended reality (XR) device) a message indicating the CDRX offset value, for example, as part of a CDRX configuration.

Connected mode discontinuous reception settings for periodic traffic with jitter

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for interference mitigation techniques between wireless communications and aircraft radio altimeters. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) and a network entity may support one or more signaling- or configuration-based interference avoidance mechanisms associated with usage of a C-band at one or both of the UE and the network entity. The UE may support a capability according to which the UE is able to monitor a frequency band used by aircraft radio altimeters and the UE may request a modification to a C-band connection (such as request a release of the C-band connection) if the UE detects or measures signaling from an aircraft radio altimeter. Similarly, the network entity may modify the C-band connection if the network entity receives the request from the UE or itself detects or measures signaling from an aircraft radio altimeter.

Interference mitigation techniques between wireless communications and aircraft radio altimeters

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, in an active state, a set of downlink grants or a set of uplink grants. The UE may transition from the active state to an inactive state based at least in part on satisfaction of a set of threshold conditions during the active state, the set of threshold conditions including at least one of a quantity of downlink grants in the set of downlink grants, a quantity of uplink grants in the set of uplink grants, or an inactivity time. Numerous other aspects are described.

Discontinuous reception in jitter-affected scenarios

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration for connected discontinuous reception (CDRX), the configuration indicating a first condition associated with a first CDRX parameter and a second condition associated with a second CDRX parameter. The UE may transition to a CDRX cycle when the first condition and the second condition are satisfied prior to an expiration of a CDRX inactivity timer. Numerous other aspects are described.
