A wearable device may be provided for detecting cumulative alcohol consumption. Such a wearable device may include an adhesive layer that adheres to skin and that allows sweat from the skin to pass through and a customizable ink layer that reacts irreversibly to change color along a gradient as ethanol is detected in the sweat. The customizable ink continues to increase color intensity along the gradient as ethanol continues to be detected in the sweat over time.

Cumulative biosensor system to detect alcohol

A dynamic sensor interface is provided. Such a dynamic sensor interface may include a reaction portion that includes a biological-based or chemical-based ink. Such ink reacts in response to a molecule of interest. The dynamic sensor interface may further include an electrode that detects the reaction by the ink in response to the molecule of interest, as well as a signal interface that emits a signal based on the electrode detecting the reaction. Such a dynamic sensor interface allows for information to be detected and communicated through and between both bio-chemical and electronic systems.

Communication using programmable materials

This disclosure relates to a tattoo decal containing bacteria that can be applied to skin and function as both a monitoring sensor and a visual indicator. In particular, a temporary tattoo containing a bacteria composite that may be selected or 'programmed' to sense, detect, or otherwise react to a variety of stimuli for use in a variety of applications and industries is disclosed.

Techniques and devices for electronically enabled in-person social networking are disclosed. A device is worn on a first user's wrist or otherwise placed on or near a first user. The device is associated with the user and a user profile is established. When another user wearing or holding a similar device comes in close proximity to the first user, the profiles of the two users are compared to see if any attributes from both users' established profiles have a strong correlation or match. If so, an indication is displayed on the device, indicating to both users that a match between the two users has been determined.
