This disclosure concerns the use of endogenous plant RNAi machinery to preferentially or specifically reduce transgene expression. In some embodiments, the disclosure concerns specific reduction of transgene expression in seed tissues of a dicot plant.

This disclosure concerns the use of endogenous plant RNAi machinery to preferentially or specifically reduce transgene expression. In some embodiments, the disclosure concerns specific reduction of transgene expression in male plant tissues, for example, to provide an economical male sterility system of hybrid seed production.

Tissue-specific expression and hybrid plant production

An electronic device tracks both calorie loss and intake for a user. The device comprises a plurality of sensors to measure user's physical activities, and provides a user interface to allow user input of activities. The device tracks these activities and estimates the calorie burned based on predefined formulas. Also through the user interface, the device allows user to input information about food or drink consumption, and then estimates the corresponding calorie intake. User input of activities and food/drink consumption can be achieved by means of voice. The electronic device also runs a software app which can provide instructions for the user with regards to activities and/or food/drink consumption. In addition, the app allows user to enter weight, together with the tracked calorie intake and loss history data, to adaptively adjust the calorie calculation formulas and the associated parameters.

Activity tracker

The invention relates to transgenic plants exhibiting increased cell wall content. In one embodiment, transgenic plants engineered to over-express fructokinase (FRK) or both FRK and sucrose synthase (SuSy) are provided. The FRK+SuSy double-transgenic plants of the invention consistently exhibit enhanced cell wall polymer deposition.
