A wireless communication device includes an antenna to receive a signal, a low noise amplifier, and circuitry that determines the power level of the signal. The circuitry also determines whether the signal includes a packet, and causes the low noise amplifier to amplify the signal when the signal includes a packet and the power level of the signal is below a threshold. The circuitry also causes the low noise amplifier to be bypassed when the signal does not include a packet, or the power level of the signal is above the predetermined threshold and the signal includes a packet.

Low gain listen

A communication device, such as a smart phone, includes transmit/receive logic to cancel an interfering signal component. The interfering signal component may originate from a communication interface on the device itself. For example, transmissions from the communication interface may interfere with received signals at other communication interfaces on the device. Transmit/receive logic on others of the communication interfaces may use known characteristics of the interfering signal component to cancel the interfering signal component.

Self-interference cancellation

A wireless device includes impedance determination and processing circuitry. The impedance determination circuitry determines load impedance at an output of at least one Radio Frequency (RF) power amplifier of the wireless device. The processing circuitry couples to the impedance determination circuitry and alters at least one operating parameter of the wireless device based upon the determined load impedance. Alteration of at least one operating parameter of the wireless device may include altering a gain of at least one transmit path component, altering a gain of at least one receive path component, altering tuning settings of at least one transmit path component, altering tuning settings of at least one receive path component, altering a rail voltage setting, altering baseband processing pre-distortion settings, altering baseband processing receive signal processing operations, altering antenna configuration settings, altering antenna tuning parameters, altering antenna diversity settings, and altering Multi Input Multi Output (MIMO) settings.

Antenna impedance/power amplifier source impedance measurement circuitry and device operation based thereon

A wireless access point (AP) radio may be integrated in a cable. The cable may comprise one or more other integrated wireless AP radios. The cable may be communicatively coupled to a wireless controller and the wireless AP radio may receive power from the wireless controller via the cable. Feature information and/or configuration parameter settings may be received by the wireless AP radio from the wireless controller via the cable. The wireless AP radio may provide wireless communication services such as wireless access to a wired network for one or more client devices, based on the feature information and/or the configuration parameter settings. When one or more adjacent wireless AP radios in the cable become non-operational, the wireless AP radio may increase its transmission power to increase its coverage for covering at least a portion of coverage area associated with the one or more non-operational adjacent wireless AP radios.

Method and system for wireless access point radios integrated in a cable

A wireless device includes at least one antenna, an RF interface, and processing circuitry coupled to the RF interface and indirectly to the at least one antenna. The wireless device identifies other wireless devices that service based upon transmission characteristics of wireless signals received from other wireless devices and/or relative positions of the other wireless devices with respect to itself. In a first operational period, the wireless device determines transmission characteristics of the other wireless devices. Then, during a second operational period, without further interaction with the other wireless devices, the wireless device determines communication link characteristics based simply upon transmission characteristics of the other wireless devices.
