A cover for a wheel-hub bearing made of plastic is provided. The cover includes an end wall that is arranged transversely with respect to a central axis (X) and a cylindrical mounting wall, which extends axially from one side of the end wall around the axis (X). The cover also includes a snap-action step that projects in a radially outwards direction from the cylindrical wall for locking the cover on a tubular appendage of the bearing a resilient ring that is arranged between an annular shoulder portion of the cover and the tubular appendage to exert a resilient recall action on the snap-action step.

An apparatus including rigid plate having a first face and a second face, a plurality of through seats arranged as a circular crown about an axis of symmetry (A), perpendicular to each seat and shaped as a circular crown segment; a plurality of knives carried by the plate, each being axially slidingly guided into a seat, independently of the other knives; each knife has a head which protrudes from the seat from the side of the first face, a prismatic body having an axial length greater than the seat, and a wedge-shaped end, opposite to the head, which protrudes from the second face when the head substantially abuts against the first face; the wedge-shaped ends circumferentially having a first profile, complementary to that of the frontal toothing to be obtained, and the knives can be replaced totally or partially with others having a second profile different from the first profile.

A method including the steps of forming an inner ring of the wheel hub, as the joining of a spindle and an insert ring fitted onto the spindle, on the side of a first end of the spindle; axially blocking the insert ring on the spindle by plastically deforming the first end of the spindle so as to form an upset collar therewith, which axially protrudes from the insert ring; and once the step of forming the upset collar has finished, frontally obtaining on the collar, on the side opposite to the insert ring, a frontal toothing by axially impressing on the collar one or more knives in sequence, carried in an axially sliding manner by a plate.

Method of forming a frontal toothing on an inner ring of a wheel hub

A static sealing device for a wheel hub assembly, an inner ring operatively associated with a constant velocity joint, an outer ring coupled with the wheel hub, including a first sealing assembly arranged between the inner ring and an outer ring for protecting respective rolling bodies, and a second sealing assembly integrally carried by the inner ring, arranged straddling the wheel hub and the outer ring of the joint; wherein the first sealing assembly includes a shield anchored to the inner ring of the bearing and provided, on the first side of the joint, with a flange portion carrying an annular signal generating element towards the joint which leaves an annular radially inner area of the flange portion uncovered, defining an annular seat between it and the inner ring in which an edge radially folded on the outside of a tubular core of the second sealing assembly is coupled.
