A portable stove of the type fuelled from a replaceable pressurized combustible gas cartridge which is secured inside a cover member supporting a burner head and having means for connecting the burner head to the replaceable cartridge. A pair of covers, which telescopically fit one into the other have the dual function of serving separately as saucepans or in co-operation as an expandible housing for storing the stove, the covers being selectively telescopable to relatively greater or lesser extents, respectively to store the stove assembled or alternatively disassembled. The stove has arms which are shaped so as to provide, when the arms are extended, upstanding portions which are inscribed in a circle whose diameter is greater than the external diameters of the covers.

Portable stoves

A container for enclosing a portable stove either in a first fully assembled configuration having one height, or in a second partially dismantled configuration having a second lesser height, the container comprising two saucepans serving as covers and telescopable together to accomodate the stove having either said first or second height, the saucepans having two sets of selectable latch elements vertically spaced along their sidewalls to latch the saucepans at one of the selected heights, and the latch elements being supported on sidewalls which are so shaped that the saucepans can be telescoped together with the latch elements sliding freely between them without snagging on adjacent sidewalls.

In a device for tapping gas from a gas-containing cartridge, there is provided a screw socket into which a threaded end of a tap forming part of a gas-using appliance is screwed, a piston spring-loaded in the direction of the end of the socket and bearing at its end sealing means engaging the cartridge, a perforating needle mounted on the socket and extending through the piston, and stop means to limit the travel of the piston under the action of its spring. The piston is hollow and of larger diameter than the socket which latter extends into a bore in the piston, the piston sliding over and outside the socket. By this means, the risk of seizure of the piston in prolonged use of the device is considerably reduced.

Portable cartridge gas cooking stove

A portable stove of the type fuelled from a replaceable pressurized combustible gas cartridge and having means for connecting a burner head to the replaceable cartridge, said stove being equipped with a dished wind shield having a rim which surrounds the burner head, and cooking vessel support arms pairs of which are formed by yokes pivoted along their middle sections on the floor of the dished wind shield such that the arms are movable between cooking vessel supporting positions in which the said arms extend beyond the rim of the said wind shield and stowing positions in which the said arms are moved back within the periphery of the rim. A pair of covers, which telescopically fit one into the other have the dual function of serving separately as saucepans and in co-operation as an expandible housing for the stove. The ends of the arms are shaped so as to provide, when the arms are extended, upstanding portions which are inscribed in a circle whose diameter is greater than the external diameters of the covers.
