An identification system for articles in manual free automatic vending apparatus for hotel rooms is provided. Electric or electronic sensors detect the presence or absence of a stored article in an individual location. Means are provided to detect the presence or absence of a ferromagnetic metal wire that holds a cork in place on a valuable article, especially a champagne bottle.

Identification system for articles in vending apparatus of hotel rooms

A teeth cleaning apparatus has a brush pivotally mounted in a brush holder. The brush has a teeth cleaning member such as bristles formed thereon. A vibrator exerts a vibratory force on the brush so that the teeth cleaning member moves back and forth in substantially its axial direction. The vibrator is driven by an electrical signal which preferably is of a frequency between 1,000 and 17,000 Hz and includes an audio frequency component of mixed frequency and amplitude representing music or other pleasant sounds which is transmitted to the auditory system of a person while brushing.

Teeth cleaning apparatus

A changing apparatus for compact discs has a box-shaped magazine in which discs are stored in parallel, overlapping, sloped compartments. The discs can be moved from a storage position in the magazine to a playback position on a playback mechanism by a disc transfer mechanism. The disc transfer mechanism can include a spring-operated lever for pushing a disc out of the magazine. Alternatively, it may include a flexible ribbon housed inside a hollow sheath. When the ribbon is moved back and forth in the sheath, the disc is pushed in a desired direction by one of the ends of the ribbon.

Automatic changer for information storage devices

Conditioning system for lip rouge or make-up is provided. The system has two parts which are engageable with each other, with one of the parts being adapted to carry the required quantity of the product which is deposited as a layer by dipping, and the other part being adapted to form a closure of the system or to increase its total length.

A changing apparatur for recording media has a rotatable magazine which houses a plurality of sloping storage slots in which recording media can be housed. The storage slots overlap one another in the circumferential direction of the magazine. A selector rotates the magazine until a desired storage slot is disposed in a loading position. A loading mechanism transfers a recording medium between the storage slot which is at the loading position and a pick-up which reads the information recorded in the recording medium.

Automatic changing apparatus for a recording medium

A player/recorder apparatus with an automatic changer mechanism for information carriers in the form of cards or discs. An arcuate magazine stores a plurality of information carriers in multiple compartments extending radially from a center, each compartment being adapted to store an information carrier in a storage position in a radial plane relative to the center. One or more player/recorder devices for supporting an information carrier in an operating position are spaced circumferentially from the arcuate magazine. A symmetrical rotary changer is mounted for angular rotation about the center so as to be positionable in alignment with the entrance of any one of the compartments or of any one of the player/recorder devices, the rotary changer having a member for shuttling an information carrier by movement edgewise in its own plane between a storage position in a magazine compartment and a transition position on the rotary changer and between the transition position on the rotary changer and the operating position in the player/recorder devices, the rotary changer being angularly rotatable through at least 180.degree. to permit reversal of the sides of an information carrier in the transition position.

Automatic changer for player/recorder of optical magnetic discs and cards

The status corresponding to the presence or absence of articles at their reserved locations is detected by means of an optical switch comprising an emitter which sends infra-red rays toward a receiver. The article obstructs these rays and hence its presence is detected. The information obtained from the optical switches is processed and used for servicing or billing.

Manual free-access vending machine

An apparatus and method for reproducing sound recordings on blank films and tapes of plastic materials in which a continuous master film carrying sinuous lines of imprint containing the sound recordings to be reproduced are pressed against a blank tape as both the master film and blank tape are moved continuously at a constant speed and in synchronism past a pressure applying station. A laser is provided to emit a very fine and precise laser heat beam to heat and soften local zones of the blank tape a fraction of a second before being aligned to receive the imprints.

Sound recording apparatus for blank films and tapes

Mobile refractive optical members are placed in a device between the film and stereoscopic direct viewing windows. A drive is provided for driving the film strip bearing stereoscopic images and the mobile refractive optical members at a uniformly constant speed and in synchronism across the fields of view of the viewing windows to provide a fixed image in each window despite the motion of the film; the film strip has a sound track which may be reproduced by conventional reproduction equipment since the film strip is driven at a constant speed.

Device for direct cinematographic viewing of stereoscopic images on film

A record player having a mechanism for guiding and centering records of different sizes on a driving spindle. Two pairs of levers are mounted on a record carrier at diametrically opposed positions. The levers have generally circular hubs mounted on pivots carried by the record support and extending arms including record engaging studs. Insertion of a record engages the studs to pivot the arms which guide the record to a centered position. Alignment of slots in the hubs of at least one of the pairs of levers sense the proper positioning of the record and trigger the player to rotate the record carrier from the load to the play position.

Record loading apparatus for a slot type record player

Loading and unloading mechanism for slot type disc player apparatus incorporates a device for transferring a disc to the disc drive after it has been inserted through a slot and for transferring the disc from the disc drive and ejecting it through the slot after the playing operation has been completed. A disc carrier plate is mounted on the frame of the apparatus for helical movement between a first position adjacent the slot and a second position adjacent the disc drive. A spring or a motor provides power to rotate the carrier plate, which rotational movement is translated to helical movement by helical ramp members and cooperating bearing members. Control devices are included to provide automatic operation.

Helicoidal loading and unloading mechanism for disc player apparatus

An audio-visual cartridge containing two coplanar adjacent rotatable discs, a visual disc carrying a plurality of picture transparencies mounted in a ring for successive viewing and an audio disc having sound recording tracks on a face thereof for individual sound recordings corresponding to transparencies, the cartridge being in the form of a flat envelope having a first and second internal compartment disposed in coplanar relation for accommodating the discs. An apparatus for reproducing recordings while a user views transparencies on discs contained in an audio-visual cartridge is provided with a manual selector for rotating the visual disc and a motor drive for rotating the audio disc, an optical viewer for reading the transparencies, an audio device for reading sound tracks and reproducing recordings and a circuit and mechanism for coordinating the rotation of the discs so that individual recordings corresponding to transparencies are reproduced while the corresponding transparencies are being viewed.

A package for storing and method for ejecting small amounts of flowing material, especially liquids, viscous or pasty material, from the package which comprises foil sections which are joined together and form a compressible container for storing said material, an enclosed chamber separated from the container by a predetermined rupture site and having throttling means associated with the chamber for regulating the flow of material to a discharge opening when pressure is applied to compress the storage container and continued after site is ruptured.

Package for accommodating and ejecting small amounts of flowing material

The package for storing and spraying small amounts of liquid comprises a formed section and a flat sheet joined together such that together they provide a compressible container for storing liquid and a conterminous system of passageways for conveying and accelerating the liquid when pressure is applied to the container, said passageway system being constructed to keep the liquid within the container without any outside means of assistance. The passageway system terminates tangentially in a turbulence space provided with at least one central nozzle aperture. To intensify the spraying effect or atomization of the liquid, two passageways are provided between the container and the turbulence space which terminate tangentially in the turbulence space offset at an angle of 180.degree.. The means designed to keep the liquid within the container consists preferably of a ruptureable seal at a site between the container and the passageway system.

Package for storing and spraying small amounts of liquids

A powered atomizer that repeatedly actuates a conventional manual pump-type atomizer. The powered atomizer is a motor driven unit contained within a housing which holds the atomizer spray head and pump stationary, and provides a mechanism to reciprocate the atomizer container relative to the stationary spray head and pump to actuate the atomizer. The housing is comprised of two separable sections that permits disassembly of the housing and replacement of spent containers. The atomizer container is reciprocated in the housing by means of an electric motor with a motor shaft. The rotary motion of the motor shaft is transformed into reciprocating vertical translatory motion by a cam and follower mechanism. An on-off switch controls the supply of power to the motor, and the container returns to its lowermost position when the motor is stopped, so that it can be manually operated. Power to the motor can be supplied either by batteries within the housing or by a transformer within the housing that is connected to an external electrical source.
