A method and a device for controlling an electrical load. A quantity is ascertained which is a function of the temperature of the load or which characterizes the temperature of the load. The quantity is specifiable on the basis of a temperature variable and a current variable. A first filter takes into account the influence of the temperature variable on the quantity, and a second filter takes into account the influence of the current flowing through the load.

Method and device for controlling an electrical load

A method for determining the utilization of a computing apparatus is described, especially for the determination of the utilization of a microcomputer having a real-time operating system. In the method, an idle program ( ) is always then called up when no other programs are processed by the control apparatus. According to the invention, the number (ZMESS) of the call-ups of the idle program ( ) or the total duration of the idle program ( ) is determined. This number (ZMESS) is evaluated after a pregiven reference time span (TMAX) is exceeded. The number (ZMESS) of call-ups of the idle program ( ) can be applied as a measure for the utilization of the computing apparatus.

Method for determining the load of a computing device

The invention relates to a system for monitoring a clutch between a motor of a vehicle and a transmission thereof with respect to impermissible slip. For this purpose, the monitoring system provides that a value is determined with the presence of specific operating conditions. This value represents the slip present at the clutch. This value can then be compared to at least one pregiven first threshold value. With the system of the invention, the clutch is monitored with respect to clutch wear which has already occurred. In one configuration of the invention, the clutch is configured as a converter bridging clutch and is generally configured with an automatic transmission; whereas, in another configuration of the invention, a clutch is considered which can interrupt the frictional connection between the motor of the vehicle and the transmission when the clutch is completely disengaged.
