Anaesthetic may be injected directly into the bone using a syringe in combination with a mechanism for causing the syringe needle to oscillate about its axis. The mechanism may be driven by a drive unit of the type conventionally used to power dental instruments.

This device for preventing the ingress of water into the head of a dental contra-angle comprises a ring seal of cylindrical configuration adapted to be inserted through a hole formed in the bottom wall of the head body for the passage of the dental tool. This ring seal comprises at one end a flange having a diameter greater than the diameter of the passage hole and at its opposite end a bead also of greater diameter than the hole but adapted to be compressed when inserting the ring seal through the hole.

Device for preventing the ingress of water into the head of a dental

A centrally-bored cylindrical abutment member is fitted over the shank of a root canal instrument and held against the instrument handle or head by elastic clipping means acting on the instrument handle, or on a handpiece carrying the instrument. The thickness of the abutment member may be adjustable, e.g. by screwing, or several interchangeable devices with abutment members of different thicknesses can be provided to accurately set the effective penetrable length of the instrument.

Device for limiting the penetration of dental root canal instruments

A package for dental root canal instruments comprises a rectangular base plate of stamped metal having integral resilient protuberances along a marginal edge defining housings for gripping the handles of the instruments, a part of the handle protruding beyond said marginal edge. A cover with U-section slides is slidably mounted on the base plate to cover the instruments and enclose the protruding handles.

Package for dental root canal and the like instruments

A container for dental instruments has a thin plate provided with a plurality of pairs of opposed recesses disposed in two parallel rows in a major surface of the plate. A plurality of channels connect the two recesses in each of the pairs of recesses. Dental instruments are received by the pairs of recesses and their interconnecting channels and are covered by a cover secured to the surface of the plate having the recesses. A plurality of containers may be stacked and held together by a clamp for ease of shipping or storage.
