A fluid spraying or dispensing device has a sheath 1 extending between an open first end 4 and a second end 5 provided with an end wall 6 which is pierced by at least one hole 7. A fluid tank 10 is slidably mounted inside the sheath and is provided with a fluid ejection device 13 controlled by a push rod 15 secured to the sheath, and a cover 30 is adapted to be slidably engaged on the second end of the sheath. The cover includes at least one projection 33 adapted to penetrate through the hole in the end wall of the sheath to enable the push rod to be actuated by pressing against the end wall of the tank.

A screw-extruder for shaped food pastes such as spaghetti is removably mounted on a base containing a prime mover. To ensure the safety of the assembly an activator is associated with the cylinder housing the screw and can only actuate a switch in the base when the cylinder is correctly positioned. The actuator may take the form of a manually operable pushbutton on the cylinder, or a lever acted on by the cylinder and acting as a mechanical interlock with a pushbutton and permitting its operation only when predetermined conditions are satisfied. In each case the pushbutton will only act to permit operation of the motor when it is properly positioned relative to a switch in the base.

Apparatus for extruding food pastes

A citrus fruit juicing attachment for an electrically-driven kitchen robot is described. The attachment of the invention comprises an extension piece for fitting on the motor drive shaft, a basket for mounting on the upper bowl of the kitchen robot which is provided at its edge with a projection adapted to operate a motor control switch and at least one cone which can be driven by the extension piece. The cone can only be mounted in the basket when the extension piece is not engaged therein. The need to remove basket and cone when changing cones, thus disenabling the machine, leads to an increase in safety.

The invention relates to a motorised food preparation appliance having a covered work bowl and in particular to a safety arrangement whereby a tab on the cover of the work bowl can be moved into contact with the operating member of the on/off switch of the motor of the appliance as the cover is rotated into correct operative position on the work bowl.

Snap-on fastener apparatus for removably holding tools on a drive shaft turned by the motor of a household electrical appliance, particularly shown as a food processor with multiple uses, in which interchangeable rotary tools of various shapes and types are employed as a function of the different food preparation tasks to be performed. A protective sheath surrounds the drive shaft and a sheath portion of the tool hub engages upon the sheath of the drive shaft. Fastener apparatus enables the user to affix the desired tool upon the drive shaft sheath in a snap-on manner for removably holding the tool against axial displacement relative to the drive shaft and enables the rapid and convenient installation or removal of the tools without the use of accessories. As the tool is being introduced onto the drive shaft, a flange spreads a plurality of elastic retainer clips which then snap back to reclose over the flange when the tool is fully installed for retaining it in position.
