A torsion beam axle for a wheel suspension of a motor vehicle. The torsion beam axle has a torsionally compliant transverse section. A trailing arm is fixed at each opposed end of the transverse section. Each trailing arm supports a wheel carrier that pivots about a respective steering axis. The wheel carriers are connected to one another via ball joints and a tie rod, and couple an actuating mechanism for producing steering movement of the wheel carriers about their respective steering axes. A kinematic coupling system is connected to the tie rod and designed to regulate the degree of freedom of rotational movement of the tie rod. A torsion beam axle in which &#x2014;to minimizing track angle differences or unsymmetrical bouncing behavior&#x2014;the tie rod and actuating mechanism maintain optimum kinematic conditions in all operating situations.

Steerable twist-beam rear suspension

Wheel suspension for vehicle, with support, steering knuckle connected in articulated manner with the support via interconnected joints, a vehicle wheel rotatably supported on the steering knuckle, a connecting element extending between a first joint and a second joint which is connected in an articulated manner via the first joint to the steering knuckle and via the second joint to the support, an angle detection device , for measuring the rotation angle of one of the joints and for generating an angle signal characterizing the rotation angle, an evaluation device, for evaluating the angle signal, and which is coupled with the angle detection device. The connecting element is a chassis actuator with an adjusting means, with which the length of the chassis actuator and thereby the position of the vehicle wheel is varied. The length of the chassis actuator is determined with the evaluation device by evaluating the at least one angle signal.

Wheel suspension for a vehicle

A motor vehicle, with a drive train comprising a drive assembly, a transmission and wheels (). The drive train further including actuators () for adjusting at least one of the tracking and/or the camber. Sensors (), for determining the tracking and/or camber, are integrated in the motor vehicle, and a control unit () only operates the actuators (), to adjust the tracking and/or the camber, when the drive train is in a defined actual static condition.
