The invention relates to an access control method for a motor vehicle. The motor vehicle has at least a first and a second access element automatically adjustable between a closed position and an open position. The method comprises at least the following steps: detecting at least one position of a key element carried by a user relative to the motor vehicle by radio; calculating a probability of use for each access element depending on the at least one detected position of the key element; adjusting both the first access element and the second access element from the closed position to the open position if: the probability of use of each of the first and second access elements is above a predetermined first threshold value; and an absolute value of a difference in the probability of use of the first and second access elements is below a predetermined second threshold value.

Access control method for a motor vehicle and access control system

A vehicle door handle and a corresponding system is described. The vehicle door handle comprises a first pair of switches with a first on-off switching unit and a second on-off switching unit, wherein the switching units of the first pair of switches are arranged adjacent to one another on the car door handle, the first on-off switching unit is connectable to a first input of a control unit as to control switching between a high level and a low level at the first input, and the second on-off switching unit is connectable to a second input of the control unit as to control switching between a high level and a low level at the second input.

A method is proposed for calibrating a position detection of a portable key element by an access control system for a motor vehicle. The access control system comprises a detection device which is configured to detect a position of the key element relative to the motor vehicle by means of radio. The method comprises generating a first trigger signal when the key element is located in a first position relative to the motor vehicle and detecting a first signal strength in response to the first trigger signal. The method determines a correlation of signal strength and distance of the key element relative to the motor vehicle depending on the first signal strength at the first position. Method for calibrating a position detection of a portable key element and access control system

This disclosure relates to an access control method for a motor vehicle. The motor vehicle includes a plurality of access elements, which are automatically moveable between a closed position and an open position. Depending on the at least one detected position of the key element, a prediction is made of which of the plurality of access elements the user is likely to use. This access element is automatically opened. If the prediction turns out to be incorrect, the corresponding one of the plurality of access elements for which the use was originally predicted is returned back from the open position to the closed position. This disclosure further relates to an access control system for a motor vehicle.
