For controlling an HVAC component (), a physical identifier object () associated with the HVAC component () is arranged in an area () with access to a wireless network () and at a location distant and separated from the HVAC component (). Identifier information is obtained from the physical identifier object () by a mobile communication device () and transmitted via the wireless network () to a remote computer system (). The remote computer system () returns HVAC component data linked to the identifier information. The mobile communication device () uses the component data for generating a user interface () for an HVAC virtual room unit for controlling the HVAC component (). User commands received via the user interface () are transmitted by the mobile communication device () via the remote computer system () to the HVAC component () for controlling the HVAC component ().

Method and a mobile communication device for controlling an HVAC component in a building

For monitoring an HVAC system (), HVAC data reporting messages are received and stored in a cloud-based computer system (). Each HVAC data reporting message includes one or more operation data values included by an HVAC controller () of the HVAC system (). The cloud-based computer system () generates (S) remote diagnoses for a particular HVAC device, using a plurality of HVAC reporting messages received from a plurality of the HVAC controllers () from one or more HVAC systems (). Each remote diagnosis is generated (S) by using more than one operational data value, included in HVAC reporting messages received (S) received from HVAC controllers () of more than one HVAC systems () and/or from at least two different types of operational data values. A diagnosis message which includes a remote diagnosis is transmitted to a diagnosis processing system for the particular HVAC device.

Method and computer system for monitoring an HVAC system with data from a plurality of HVAC controllers

A control adapter for fastening on a HVAC device includes a wireless communication interface for communicating control signals between a remote control device and the control adapter. A wireless near-field communication interface communicates control signals between the control adapter and the HVAC device. A control circuit converts the control signals received from the wireless communications interface into the control signals of the wireless near-field communication interface and converts the control signals received from the wireless near-field communication interface into control signals of the wireless communication interface.
