The invention relates to an item-to-be-cleaned carrier for the cleaning of items to be cleaned, which have at least one cavity, the cleaning being performed in a conveyor washer. The item-to-be-cleaned carrier can be used in particular for cleaning personal protective equipment. The item-to-be-cleaned carrier comprises at least one base element and at least one nozzle tube, which is connected to the base element. The nozzle tube has at least one inlet opening having at least one catching funnel. The nozzle tube has at least one outlet nozzle. The nozzle tube tapers, at least in parts, from the inlet opening to the outlet nozzle. The invention further relates to a cleaning system and to a method for cleaning items to be cleaned, which have at least one cavity, using the cleaning system.

A cleaning basket () for cleaning a breathing apparatus () is proposed. The cleaning basket () comprises at least one basket rack (). Furthermore, the cleaning basket () comprises at least one mask holder () for holding at least one protective breathing mask () in the cleaning basket (). Furthermore, the cleaning basket () comprises at least one suction element () which has at least one suction opening () and is configured to extend into the protective breathing mask () held by the mask holder (). The suction element () is configured to be charged with negative pressure and to suck cleaning fluid out of at least one interior space () of the protective breathing mask () into the suction opening (). Furthermore, a cleaning system () with the cleaning basket () and a cleaning device (), and a method for cleaning the breathing apparatus () are proposed.

A method for cleaning a breathing apparatus comprising a respiratory mask, by such precleaning activity as: providing the breathing apparatus in an externally contaminated state, providing a holder for the respiratory mask having at least one curved sealing face and stretching the respiratory mask onto the holder such that a sealing lip of the respiratory mask lies on the curved sealing face and closes off an interior of the respiratory mask, and the holder with the respiratory mask may be introduced into a precleaning chamber, exposing an outer side of the respiratory mask in the precleaning chamber to at least one precleaning fluid. And, after the precleaning, the respiratory mask may be released from the holder, introducing the respiratory mask into a primary cleaning chamber and exposing the respiratory mask, including an inner side of the respiratory mask that faces the interior, to a primary cleaning fluid.
